Default AU XR front end

Is this as easy as bolt in headlights?

I have a feeling that its a bit more involving than that.

I would imagine there arent many XR lights and/or front ends floating around the wreckers...?

Not many AU xr front ends floating around the wreckers but there ae a heap on the forums. Place a wanted thread in the for sale/wanted section of the forums with a price your willing to pay. I know of 4 of us that have them off the top of my head

Wow i had a feeling it required panel changes similar to XF->LTD conversions.

Im surprised there arent more XR-lighted AUs running around as it makes such a huge difference to the look.

How much do the lights go for ballpark figure?

I noticed in a pic of a V8Supercar kitted AU that the front bar seemed to incorporate the headlights/ sorounds as well?

To change a AU1 base model (anything below Fairmont) to a XR front end, you need the headlights+brackets, and the XR nose cone. To change a AU2/3 to a XR front end you need headlights+brackets, XR nose cone and a bonnet.

it will cost you approximately $800 for the XR lights, brackets and indicators, then whatever it costs for the bar itself, either a genuine which sylox has already mentioned a few people have laying around after replacing theirs with the XR50 front bar which we now produce found on our website www.awcinfo.com (shameless i know :Reverend: )

FalKeen , Ive allways wondered why there was never a non genuine AUII XR nose cone produced but there are many places that produce non genuine AUI XR nose cones....do you know of a reason for this?

Cheers

two reasons,

1. the grill section on the AU2/3 bar is quite more difficult to mould than the AU1 (even on the XR50 bar we have had to delete the two uprights from it as they were impossible to reproduce in fibreglass)

2. we hadnt moulded one yet so no one else was selling them (ie. we supply most parts to everyone else, they are distributors not manufacturers)

cheers
