sometimes though, the cops deliberatly take off slower as they already have a car of intrest in their sights and want to get behind it to do plate checks etc.

Perth cops are good, I have never had any real dramas with them except this one woman... who was put in her place by her partner at the time.

When I was on my P's I was driving an escort that did not have the battery clamped down, bald rears and a frayed seatbelt and I just got warned... same cop pulled me over a week later just to check that I had fixed it. They are a reasonable bunch of people (usually).

It is a fact the cops will pull over P platers more than other, I had the escort and an EA while I was on mine and I got a fair bit of attention but it was usually just an RBT and a quick check over and I was sent on my way.

I've been done for the empty washer bottle, at one of those vehicle inspection buses, the ones where they search the car and everything....i am also on my p plates, but im north of the river

Thats about as stupid as what we get in road transport. I (or at least my company) have been booked for major road safety defects like...

'Long Vehicle' signs 20cm too high on the trailer. Reason. Motorists cant see them if they're too high. (if the car is that close, reading the sign is the last thing he should worry about!)

Spare tyre (1 of 4 carried) with not enough tread. Reason. If you get a flat tyre and put this tyre on you will be driving an unroadworthy vehicle.

B-Double 20cm overlength (overlength because it has a bullbar) this is on a vehicle 25m long.

Spotlights mounted too high on bullbar. I guess utes with lights on their roof dont count?

No spray suppressant on a B-Double (the hairy stuff you see on Trucks, usually around guards) This can be anything from a small split in full arch mudguard to missing bits of the spray suppressant strip brush. The thing here is that only B-Doubles need this by law, single trailers and triple road trains dont need any spray suppressant at all. Road safety? yeah right.

So anytime I read about a blitz where a gazillion defects have been issued to P Platers/Cars/Trucks/Bikes/Skateboarders I turn to the next page in the paper.

yeah its all fixed now and car goes over the pits this wednesday, u were right bout alot of hoons in rocko but most of them commodores lol no surprise there am i right

^^^^yeah, and half the commo hoons in Rocko are my brothers mates. There is nothing worse than comming home only to find about 15 commodores parked on your front lawn.

some "P" platers around Rocko ask for it and they ruin it for the others who are smart enough to hoon at the right time right place but i have seen older hoons rip it up at the wrong place at the very wrong time too, you just stand out more as a "P" plater i guess, all you can do is make sure your car is spot on, just play the game and give ya car a quick going over once a week before a friday night cruise!!

all the cops need is a blown tail light or even a blown number plate light to stop you and run a licience check and then if they dont like the look of you then they will go to town on ya, cause they can i spose!!

i have found both sorts of cops here in Perth, i defenetly agree it a quota thing for sure!!

Amen to that. Be nice and tell them what they want to hear, no worries! on my move to qld i have a boat fully loaded with my crap tarped over. he didnt even want to peek under. his only grievance was that the trailer had only one working brake light, and one working indicator (left). being a boat trailer, its massively common to blow globes (which is why i upgraded to LED), and i did check my brake lights (not parkers). i explained this to him, and he said i wont fine you, but you have to go straight to the next servo (at 3am theyre hard to find on the pac). He escorted me 45km to the port macquarie turnoff, and left me be.

He could have been a ****, but he wasnt, and i put it down to being reasonable. that and 3am is too dark to write a ticket

lol, on the bruce just nort of redcliffe, saw an undercover with... get this.. an L plate on the car!!!!!!!! standard daddy issue commo, tints and an l plate... wuldnt you be spewing!!
