Cool squeaking sound comming from under the car ??

Hi guys, just a question. Lately I have noticed a squeaking sound as I go over bumps etc comming from under the car around the front wheels, When i got my car serviced and a wheel alignment they made me aware of a problem that can eventuate into a more serious problem if not taking care of soon, they said that the bareings on the two front wheels or something like that are old and need replacement because the wheels are able to move from side to side about 5cm when hoested up, when the two back wheels dont move at all.
So what else could it possibly be ? I am due to get the car lowered getting a new cam kit, springs and shocks but it might be worth getting whatever the problem is out of the way ??? any suggestions. cheers

I've got squeaky noises in my EL as well... I don't know if its wheel bearings or not but I do know my tie-rod ends are rooted, as are my rear swaybar bushes.

yes it is a problem if they are stuffed the tie rods are what connect your stering rack to ur hub assembly your swaybar bushes are what connect your sway bar to your car and your weel bearings are what your weels spin on all are farily inexpensive to fix and are worth doing as you will notice an improvement in handaling.

I have a squeaking noise as well but don't believe everything you hear from a mechanic - get a second opinion as they may just be guessing whats wrong.

My squeaking noise is coming from my camber kit as the bush's are stuffed..............

As you can see t from all the answers on this here are many squeaking noises that can come from the front of a Ford, if you don't know anything about cars and are just learning either get another member to have a look or get a second opinion from another mechanic BUT just tell the second mechanic you have squeaking noises and don't tell him what the other mechanic thinks..........

Ditto, apart from the accident bit. I also have the squeak from the front. Will get around to the wheel bearings eventually...

i would still suggest changing your wheel bearings... it's pretty simple, inexpensive and will take about half hour each side...

This is a very common spot for E-Series to squeak. Oiling/greasing will stop it, until the grease dries up at least. The bushes are fairly well exposed to water etc bouncing up from the wheels, which doesn't help.
