Default Removing dash vents for doof doof system

hey all,
ive seen a couple of cars with this done n had a few questions about it.

removing the air vents in the center of the dash above where head units go.
how do you block the air vent inside the dash
do peps just stuff a sock in it n then electrical tape the sock in. or do you put a cap on it.
i have modded the center console as well and need to block the air vent under the dash (the vent that norm goes to back seats.

heres the 3 vents i was talking about.

the reason for this is now my doof doof system entales the following things that need to be install in the dash nicely...not just screewed on like it is at moment.

7inch lcd
dvd player
digital equaliser
analogue uv db meter
maybe even the little satellite nav sys which is currently in corner of winderscreen (drivers side)
i was hoping to install nicely into dash and then maybe move the monster tach to drivers side near windscreen or get rid of all together.
i dunno....are monster tachos still cool. hehe.

i hope this make sense. theres a couple of photos in the car build pages which had a screen n head unit built into dash...others had just guages built in to dash....thats the sorta idea i mean.

that brings me to my next question. down the track i wanna boost my baby.
what extra guages other than boost are required? i have the s pak so its got the sports dash as seen in pic.

thanks all
bradman

ive changed the dash a little bit since photo.
but i dont like keys. so i disconnected the key ignition.
i replace it with ignition imobiliser that runs into remote start paging alarm.
the 2 green switches are for ACC & ON (so when washing the car i can listen to music without having to turn car on (bmws) the red one is for starter motor so is push button to start idiots from ripping the teeth of the starter motor by leaving it on.
the next silver button is ps2 & rear screen on/off
the next silver button is for led washer lights & old undercar neons.

at the moment the above buttons are located behind the shifter & in front of the fire extingushers which is in front of the ps2....hmm this is prob makin no sense. ill get some pics up sometime.

yeah its an auto. but its nice to have a shift light when ur running her as manual.
cos when ur draggin u gotta keep your eyes on the road & the competition. not the tacho. hehe. so yeah the shift light in the dash isnt a bad idea at all. the bright red glow telling you u almost at redline is easy to spot anywhere in the car. hehe

no

damon90 - non trustworthy ebay my friend. when i got them they were $75.00
i believe since then ive seen them go for $175.00 which is waaaay too much for some bits of plastic. install time is like 15mins. very very simple. just make sure you mark on paper angle of which needle sits. so that you dont put ur guages out of wack.
they really do look much better than standard guages, however im still thinking about how to make the blue bluer. cos unfortunatly the blue is more of a white blue.
the guy who did mine allowed me to choose colour, logo & background colour. he sells for mitsos mainly if that helps you when search ebay.

manual convertion then there is a reason for shift lights and when mine was auto oven if you had it in 1st it would change to second before it hit the limmiter so there is no need for a shift light in a auto falcon

reality: theres NO need for a shift light at all! if you cant hear the engine whining when your near the red line than you shouldnt be driving a car at all! leave the shift lights to the real drag cars!

BJSPENCER85 have you got a pic of your interior/dash area that is further back than the one you have posted? just interested how the whole thing looks, it looks like a pretty cool and unique setup

hey man block the air vents with a piece of mdf cut to fit, but i would look into reorganising how you have your entertainment system setup. Also why do you want to block off the vents?

if you "must" keep the monster tacho why not put it infront of the stock one?
and just cut out a piece of MDF and slot it in there.

and i.m.o that steering wheel and checkerplate floor mats need to be burnt
