Default New Holden Epica

Sorry if repost,

I was going through the holden website and down the bottom it says 'new holden epica' it says it is a 'whisper quiet' mid sized car. but what suprised me is that it is a inline 6. i took a look at the specs and it says it has a 2.0l 110kw engine, or a 2.5l 115kw engine. Here is the link.. http://www.holdencampaign.com.au/epica/ what does everyone think of it?

Are you sure thats a Holden website? It says holdencompaign.com.au. And if you go to the root URL, it takes you to an Apache homepage.

9.3L to the hundred K's. I get that in my car on the highway. And its a 4 litre. But its far from quiet. The front looks good, back is revolting, sides are ok.

It's just another Daewoo. It's replacing the Vectra, so it's going to be a backwards step.

Time will tell if this will be a good seller, I guess the good news is that it has been on sale on Korea for at least 6 months now, so the aussie version will be somewhat refined compared to the original production car i would think.

The 2ltr puts out 105kw, so sounds like a pretty low tech engine. 115kw form 2.5ltr's of way below par in my opinion.

And whats with the slightly different petrol tank sizes???

IF it appeals to the Camry brigade and takes some sales away from Toyota then ok.

Hopefully Holden will do over the suspension for Aus.

WHo are they trying to copy, Subaru or BMW? It's unmistakenly a Daewoo Nubira.
Why do people knock the current Camry? Its clearly a better car than current 5 y.o Falcon. The right car for the right time with the high petrol prices. Its re-sale will crap all over the Falcon as well.

105kw from a 2.0L is ok. 115kw from a 2.5L is mediocre nowadays - should be at least 140kw.

Dont be surprised if these sell really well. For 25k you get a camry size car with the marketability of a a Holden badge. May not sell many to this forum but Holden are very good at selling to a younger market, especially 21 - 30 females who were paying big money for a Vectra.

Lol i was actually thinking about that when i posted. Na mate i was actually looking at that new colour for the sv6 and ss -and seeing how bad they match lol- and saw something that says new so i checked it out.

The car sort of looks like a big astra, i think holden are trying have a hack at the Euro look..

My guess is that it will be an Epica crap.

The Opel was nice. But the second you go Korean, you've lost sight.
