well heres my newly customed parcel shelf that a few of you might already know about! its made out of wood, about 2cm aprox. thick. i used a jigsaw all day yesterday cutting it to shape! then covered it in black suede. i ended up going with option 2. from the other thread. that is...i only used the speaker cover mesh and cut out a 6x9" hole in the wood, then just pressed the mesh into it so it sits there snuggly! the actual speakers are still bolted up from underneth the parcel shelf, so i havent actually cut into the car at all!!(legalalities!!!)the drivers side 'C' pillar cover sits in really really nicely so that the parcel shelf goes flush into it. the other side however!!!....the 'C' pillar cover didnt quite fit as the wood goes too far to the edge, so i decided i'll try and make it fit by cutting the plastic! well now it still dosent sit right and it looks crap! im gonna have to take it all back out and trim up the wood, then get a new cover from the wreakers and try again!

Very Very nice dude. I have something simular in the fairlane from when I bought it.
The next step if you wanted to would be to either "break up" the shelf a little by embossing XR6 or maybe a viynal section in the centre or do a stealth shelf and loose the grills and use mesh instead.

InitialD: yeh i was thinking of putting XR6 embossed into it but i think id look weird as the centre seat belt is in the way. i'd have to install a lap belt! i like the speaker grill covers, ties in with the front door speaker covers, i put the MTX grills in to replace the original.

well i took it out again today and trimmed up the wood, got the new 'C' pillar cover and painted it and put it all back in again. only took me about 30 minutes and now the passenger side is just as good as the drivers side! im absolutly rapt with the end result! the whole lot is nice and flat and runs into the 'C' pillars perfectly on both sides!
the next job for the black conversion is to get the roof dyed black, then get some black trufit carpet, then i have to face my fears.....pull all the material of the seats so i can dye them black too!! oh my god i'm actually scared of doing that! i had a look at the rear seats today and they dont look too bad to take off a few rings, i think the hardest bit will be putting them back on!! the rear side bits look pretty difficult to take off tho, im wondering if i could just put those two bits straight in the dye without taking them off, only thing is i'll need something big enough to fit them in with the dye!!lol!! oh well i'll just see what happens! cheers braden

yeh i relise that! i'd love to see someones car in the flesh with the trufit carpet in an EB, just so i know exactly what its like! if anyones got any photos of an EB with trufit post them up where the imperfections are!
