Default CAMS290, 12.6@111Mph (Update 12.48@109 mph)

Congratulations to CAMS290 (Cameron) on 12.6@111Mph top stuff, and G&D Performance for tuning the BA Pursuit.
Cams Ute has only had 2 meetings with the Edit.... the last meeting was a few months ago.
Mods are bolt-ons.
Time was done at Heathcote LS1 Nats Friday nights test and tune.

PS: Ute goes better without Judy in the back..lol :eclipsee_

Well Done Cams290 (And the masters at G&D of course). What an awsome effort.

Instead of Judy I could offer some ballast when you go to Heathcote next. I could think of no better way to take my first trip down the quarter.

Well done Cam, you and the boys at G & D have done a great job with the ute. Good result with limited time the guys had the car for too. Great mph too!

Hopefully there will be more to come the rest of the weekend at the LS1 Nats

For the record, straight from the horses mouth, the oil pump gears in cams ute were planned and purchased but have NOT been fitted. The motor has never been opened.

Unfortunately not everyone is that smily.
There has been a couple of casualties including one form the Blue Oval stable. It had a big backfire thru the manifold from where I was sitting.
There was an LS1 trying to become a V9 with a new bore out the side of the block and another who made it just 500m from the front gate. But no closer.
Nice cold day with plenty of sun to warm the track. Also had a headwind early that was probably knocking a good 2-3mph off.

It may be NOS, it has a tendency to do that.
: It was the HPF Ute, I heard it spat a conrod, it was defiantly on the NOS its the 2nd time it has lunched the engine on NOS.

Thanks guys for the congrats, it was good to meet some new people and catch up with some of the other members.

Congrats to Ratter for the close racing, and the 12.45 he ran, they are good things these 290 Pursuits, where are the challengers with sedans ???

I would like to thank G&D for making my ute so bloody quick, for essentialy its 1st serious meeting since the Ford Nats last November, when i had a transmission shift problem and ran a best of 13.18@106.

We honestly thought if we got a 12.7 something, we would be over the moon, i ran a 12.68@108 with a 1.90 60', on my 3rd last run last night.
I got up this morning and my 1st run was a 12.48@109 with a 1.82 60', then backed it up with a 12.51 @109, then onto a 12.48@109 witha 1.83 60' them ran a heap of times in the 12.6's and 12.5's. My slowest time for the whole weekend was a 12.94@110 with a 2.00 60' and i had 16 runs !!

This car is very consistent, all i did was drive to Heathcote, jack it up and put my m/t street radials on, then thrash it for two days, jack it up and put my normal wheels back on, and drive it home.

It was raced with the hard cover off, and the spare taken out, other than that it is how i drive it daily. Not like some of the LS1 cars with stripped interiors, light weight drag wheels etc.

Thanks to Kev and Whoosha for their help, and sorry about your clutch problem Kev, with a 1.79 60' you ran before it died, shows that it is going to be a awesome piece of gear.

Was good to have a few drinks with Chris from Blue Power and the guys from APS Frankston last night, i was enthralled with that lovely DVD one of the boys was playing in their car, we were all on the edge of our seats.lol
Chris also shared his passionate thoughts on LS1's with me, and anybody who cared to listen.lol

What a great weekend, thanks to the LS1 boys for letting us invade you all !
