Default So... Mag Wheels?

I have a LX LS Focus and I am interested in buying some new mags for it in the New Year. I've considered buying the Zetec Mags from Ford, but there has to be more to choose from... Is there a website that says "Here are the LS Focus Mags" :P?

LOL
Go 20's
you know you want to

Do it. Just Do it

- as Zetec20 would say...

you will need to find out the offset for the tyres and then go to shops and find out what they have,. if they say everything we have here will fit your car. just walk out. cause they may fit. but most probably not right

give Scareybear a PM he works with wheels. he might be able to help you. he also lives in Queensland.

But yes you may have to Visit stores. basically for the fact that you could visualise and acutally see the item you want first hand. its alot easier to tell you the truth....sure you can do it on the web at home. but i found it easier to go to places and ask about wheels.

Like dont get me wrong there are places on the Web that you can look at.
im not sure whats up in queensland but here in NSw there is www.tempetyres.com.au and others.

but i would sujest on your final decision actually going into the store b4 you buy the item. get a feel for what you want and what you like form websites then go out and get what you want.

I'd suggest going 18's, 17's on the ls focus are too small with the big guards

The wheel pattern (PCD) on the LS Focus isn't a common one, 5 x 108, with an offset of around 40-53

There are a few BSA wheels that can be custom drilled, and a couple Aussie companies have 1 or 2 in their range that fit...but most style's don't suit the Focus.

Do a google search of the UK only and you should find a few in the UK that fit. Maybe a group of us could make a group purchase to possibly get a better deal??

Anyway, link: http://www.bkracing.co.uk/aspbite/al...eels/index.asp

I think these guys may do a few for the LS too: http://www.lensowheel.com/

And these guys: http://www.tsw-wheels.co.uk/

If you're interested in the UK option, maybe send a couple emails to see exactly what is available.

And finally, in terms of wheel size - some 17's look good on the LS, you just have to find a design that isn't chunky like the factory 16's/17's are...they look smaller than they are...

ok.... like photn said i'd suggest 20's.... :P

but if you're looking for a more conservative style 18's should be good, try www.tempetyres.com.au or www.ozzytyres.com.au (ozzy have some 'not very bling' ones in the race section if that's what you're after)

i ordered mine through BSA australia and like Russ said they can drill them to suit and have quite a few decent styles to choose from

remember if you find some you like post em on here for more opinions

Also, you could contact Nargee (http://www.fordforums.com.au/member.php?u=196) on the forums - apparently he has ties with All Wheels Aust. Tell him B2TF (Austin) sent you...

No, but it should be...such a common PCD. Mazda 3 is 5x114.3

hate to dig up an old thread but as they say.....search is your best friend.

as per my other thread, im looking to get an exhaust etc and wheels happened to be my next priority.

i have been looking around in shops as recommended by a couple of you guys and like it was said there isnt much.

i have had a look on lenso's site as i like quiet a few of their wheels.

if i could direct you onto their site http://www.lensowheel.com/ and get you to search " GF-7 " " DC5" and " SC03_HBK " as they are two wheel designs i have been looking at.

my personal favourite is the GF-7 wheel in black with the chrome lip

the car is a pure silver LT focus zetec

wanting in either 19 or 20"

would they fit? and would they look good?

yea iv looked around and found a couple of nice BSA rims under the G2 series in 20" that i like.

http://www.bsawheels.com.au/users/Pr...il.aspx?id=395
http://www.bsawheels.com.au/users/Pr...il.aspx?id=353

i was thinking of something like a 6 or 7 spoke but i guess the plain jane 5 spoke might have to do....

could someone have a go at chopping them onto a silver focus hatch?
what do we think?

Just an old designers trick to think about.
Always go for an odd number of spokes, as this makes the wheel look like it has a sense of motion and action when stationary. That's why most wheels these days have an odd number of spokes. An even number makes the wheel look static

out of all the ones you suggested i reckon number 2 and number 4 are the best ones there. Painting your brake calipers would really look nice with one of those wheels on

ummmm. Black rim with machined lip? :
Nah I agree with Skriblz. Definitely two and four. If I had to choose, four would be my number one. What size are you looking at Brad?

i was looking at 2 and 4 as well.
im in such an awkward position atm! i need to see more wheels!
im so fussy haha
wheel size will be 19 or 20" obviously, not too sure which way to go as the 20's may look too big?

#2 look the best in my view. but stay about 19 inches rather than 20 which looks kinda too big for the car.

A blast from the past seeing the term "mag wheels" though.....it's my vintage.

God nows how long it has been though since alloy wheels had Magnesium in them (which is where the term comes from)

I tried to get a set of real mag wheels once...at 8k a set it was a lot for something that would look cool on the off chance the car ever caught fire. Oh, and a pothole would shatter them But yeah...proper, light, mag wheels are a fantasty for us mere mortals...

Does ozzy tyres have a fitting guide? I'm guessing 90% of the wheels won't fit anyways...there's a couple I like too.
