Can anyone with experience take a look at my time slip and tell me where I would be falling down most. I know the times are slower than most of you would be used to, but what I'm looking for is one sector that stands out as not fitting with the rest. (The slip didn't scan well so I'll enter the data manually)
60 ft - 2.4633 330 ft - 6.5870 660 ft - 9.8854 @ 75.29 mph 1000 ft - 12.6674 ET - 15.0264 @ 95.56 mph This was my last and quickest run of the day, many of the runs I had were marred by fuel starving, but this one was a full power start to finish pass |

You've got good power (95.56mph), but you are pretty ordinary off the line (2.4633s 60').
I was doing 14.544 @ 95.25mph, with a 2.170s 60'... Can you tell us more about your car?

You have the opposite problem to me.I pulled a 15.1 at 90mph but got 2.177 60ft. Your low down acceleration isnt going so well but I wish I had some of your power.

had mine at the drags. the differance between a good 60ft time and bad =
2.4 60ft-ET 9.7@76.92Mph 1/8th mile compared to a 2.1 60ft-ET 9.2 @77.59Mph 1/8 mile. Im not an expert but you should be able to get down to a 2.0/2.0 60ft times. I have done a 2.060 60 ft missed 3rd and still got a 9.247 @ 74.74Mph. So a good launch and 60ft times are esantial. What is your reaction time?? |

your 1/2 track MPH indicates you have the power to get the car up to speed, are you having traction problems, or is the car bogging down off the line.
What does your car weigh, and what gearing/drivetrain does it have. Nigh on 96mph should be netting low 14's (in a falc)

Your 60 foot time needs improving by a lot, if you can get that close to 2.00 as possible you'll get a great time. Some people use the rule that .10 sec off your 60 will result in a .30 off your ET
What sort of car, and was their wheelspin or bogging down off the line? |

Mate,
Need to know what sort of car, auto or manual, what tyres. Your sixty footers resemble a tractor. |

Car is an xd ute. 351 clevo. C10 auto, 9" diff 3.5:1 ratio. The car actually belongs to my brother in law, but I had it fr the day. The conveter is supposed to be 2600 rpm, but on the line with foot pushing through the firewall on the brake, I could only just crack the throttle, bring up 1900 - 2000 rpm before the wheels would turn. It has had traction problems earlier and had actually gone 14.6 with wheelspin and 3.7:1 borg warner diff. We bought a set of secondhand drag radials off a fellow forums member which are 245/60 14. There was no traction problem at all on Sunday.
Thanks for all your replies. The common theme in your responses seems to be the 60 ft time sux, so I'm guessing the converter is a big issue. |

Good to see the tyres are working ok. Try it without any stallup at all ie just a bit above idle then floor it. Know with my Capri with 2400 stall it would die when stalled up but just mash it on the start and it was heaps better.
