Gday Pub patrons,
I'm wondering if it's taboo in soceity and as well on these forums to create a thread about soeone's accident where they wrote off their pride and joy. It's not to gloat over their huge loss, but more to just appreciate the scale of tragedy and pay tribute to the car (and it's builder/owner). I don't want to give any more details, until I know where the community stands on this one. The owner seemed okay with people taking photos this weekend just gone. How would YOU feel - is it okay, like a memorial to a lost love of the flesh and blood variety is widely accepted, or is it crude and tactless? Kam |

As harsh as it seems sometimes is best to learn off other peoples accidents rather than make them on your own. So I say post it but show respect to whoever was involved in the accident.
If it was me, I would feel guttered, not only that I lost my pride and joy but somewhere either myself or someone made a mistake that lead to an accident. If I came across a forum that posted about my accident I would probably try to defend myself, but then come to conclusion that every one makes mistakes and hope someone learnt from mine.

It's all about intention. If it's intended to laugh at someone else's expense, then no. If it's intended to learn and bring a larger understanding of road safety, then it's a good idea.

Alright.
This involves one tough and straight example of a track-going orange group N XY GT that we'd all drool over and the broken heart of the bloke (now poor bloke as of last Saturday) who owns it. He did nothing at all wrong, other than not being able to wash off a bit of speed, on a skill-testing and at times very challenging circuit. Sweat blood & tears. I want to make this thread a tribute. Maybe people will have even better ideas than I? |

I figure if someone wants to lament the loss of their pride and joy, they'd start their own thread about it. I wouldn't particularly care for strangers dissecting it after the fact.
