Im assuming you mean the outline of the lights? All he did was take off the cover, and spray with gloss black the non reflective parts of the light. pretty easy, and its a nice mod to!

F U C K E N H E L L!!! thats awesome that so many people like it!!

i DIDNT buy them off ebay, i did it myself. no way would i spend over $100 on new headlights just for a bit of black outline when i can spend $3 at supercheap on gloss black paint and do it myself!!

yeh theres already a thread in this somewhere in the general section. have a look back a fair few pages!

i'll explain now how i did it.

1. first take the headlights out, 2 screws on top, 1 screw behind the headlight and 1 screw in the side where the grille goes.also disconnect the indicator and the power cable. pull out the headlight.

2. take the indicator off with 3 screws.

3. theres clips all around the headlight, just use the smallest flat head screw driver you can find and wedge it in under the clips and clip them off, the glass bit should just fall off.

4. i just used $3 gloss black paint from supercheap. DONT USE ANY TYPE OF STICKY TAPE INC. MASKING TAPE on the chrome bit, when you pull the tape off it will pull the chrome off with it leaving the yellow undercoat! trust me, i learnt this myself! all's i did was get newspaper and use it as a sheild.make sure you paint where the rubber and glass sits around the edges. the just spray from the outside only with the newspaper as a sheild and slowly cover the areas that dont reflect. i also used black 'tint' paint and did the edges of the headlight, just use masking tape to cover the face of it.

5. for the indicators i wanted to paint the edges under the glue and the bottom triangle section, but i couldnt manage to break into the indicator, i now have a crack in my brand new indicators!only small. so what i did for the indicators was masked up the face and left the section on the outside where you can see where the glue is. painted that gloss black with clear and it simply leaves a black border around the indicators and blends in better with the headlights. if you dont do this than it looks funny!!

Falcon351: i pm'd you this same guide.

hope this helps and dont forget to post pics here!!!

cheers

Well, i finally did mine. Doesn't take long at all.

First you tape up the inside of hte headlight, then spray around the outside:

Then you spray the headlight edges:

Then they look like this:

and Completed. bit of a bad photo but oh well.
http://i85.photobucket.com/albums/k7...d/CIMG1811.jpg

Very simple but effective i reckon. Thanks Braden!!!

I love those. Have you just painted the front glass/plastic cover? I was gonna try this, but i thought it might be best getting the roadworthy done on the car first

just a question, the heat emmited by the globes couldnt it effect the paint? Would it fade or possibly melt over time.....?

mine are painted on the inside just the glass no heat issues to report, the others have painted lenses but would not expect any, use high temp engine paint if you are woried about problems.

Its pretty easy mod, the lenses needed a good clean anyways, the Brock kit will get done before the Geelong Cruise fingers crossed (next 3-4weeks) with a GT spoiler to replace the bootlip one

I tried this mod with the Fairlane headlights and will have to convince my brother to use his car to show a before and after with them on the car
