Default Who can identify this old car?

I was watching a new show called 'Generation Kill', set in Iraq (supposedly) and I noticed this car in one of the streets. Does anyone know what it is? It kind of looks like an old XY/XW or something, but seems a little off. Kind of like the back of an XT with XY/XW lights. I don't know.

Probably is an XY in Sth Africa. From the wiki page on the series;

"The miniseries was shot as seven one-hour installments over a six-month shoot in Summer 2007 in Namibia, Mozambique, and South Africa."

I did notice a fair few other similar cars too, escorts, utes etc, that's most probably it. Thanks.

You could have been right, till I noticed the chrome was still on the car and it hadn't been torched.

It's funny when you see things in movies that should not be there. In Good Morning Vietnam in one particular shot there is a VH Valiant parked in the street.

While it is feasible that these were exported there in small numbers, the VH itself was not released until 1971. The movie on the other hand was set in and around 1965. The yanks never would have seen these Chryslers before so they would not have known any better.

Looks XY to me, even appears to have the chrome strip inside the C pillar. That would be worth a *mint*!!

Got the show as well but haven't got around to watching it, is it worth the watch?

I’ve zoomed in on it and I’m pretty sure that it’s an old Hummer... in Lakemba

Guess who happens to work in Lakemba ;)

You want your car left alone? Paint it fluro yellow and then it's useless for parts and no one else would want to be seen dead in it haaaaaa :

Sweet, I'll keep 'aquiring' it. At 700MB an episode I wasn't going to bother but I might wait until they've all been aired before I watch.
