thanks i found the plugs at a wreckers but cant work out the wiring. i found the wires in the left side front pillar but they are earth switched i think. i tried all combinations but none worked correctly. i could get power but it was constant power when door was closed. maybe i need to find the switch in the door closer and wire to that? anyone know?

I would say that you need to tap the wire run to the internal cabin light. That should be in the A pillars.

Maybe look at the cabin light itself and see what wires that thing uses and back trace.

If its the same as units over here , you should have 3 wires going to the dome lamp OG/BU ,BK/BU & BK
OG/BU is power & BK/BU is ground controlled by the GEM module

I would be VERY carfull as to how many bulbs you put on this circuit as I doubt the GEM module can handle a lot of load
