Default Peeps With Twin Exhaust Tips

Following on with my exhaust adventures..lol...those with twin exhaust tips, did you have any issue getting them fitted?

The place where I am getting the rest of the exhaust done said that basically he has to bash the wheel well a little to get them to sit right, I actually dont have much of an issue with that, but would rather it not be done.

Just wondering what others of done to get by this? Ive had my heart set on either some twin dumps or twin straights for ages, and dont really dont to go to a single.

I know there are a few members with EL's who have done it, so I dont know what his problem is.

Promise this will be my last exhaust related thread...LOL

Yes you can fit em without bashing the wheel well in, but it doesnt look as good. Mine are sitting a little too further out than i like. they look sick from one side the other side it makes them look as thouhg they are sticking out. So just bash in the wheel well, at least it will look good. Plus who keeps a spare these days anyways.

Minimal panel work required.

Sorry, cheated on my old ef. Single system with a y style tip - single in twin out. I didnt know you could fit twin systems under an e series without some squeezin'.

Thats pretty much exactly what I am thinking of getting, perhaps iIll just take it to the other shop once they do the rest.

The only reason I mightn't get them is because alot of people have them, which isn't a bad thing, but Im still swaying towards straight out.

Looks very neat though Sweet EL

Um maybe you missed something. First its a I6, and secondly the headers and catback are going on.

Its just the guy that is doing it said he pretty much wont do the twins as you have to bash something, or cut something, Im not sure.

So thats why I wanted to see what others have.

wtf? since when do you have to bash away the wheel well if your simply changing tips? i'll try and get pics of mine, its twin 3" pipes, one cut shorter than the other so it blends into the round part of the rear bar.
i thought u were going to go full twin setup all the way, then you would need mods lol.

Ah. So am I.

If you want a proper duel exhaust then it should exit at opposite ends. :

Tips are just for show anyway, cleans up the end nicely.

Dual is cool, even if you do have a i6. Doesn't make sense that you need to beat the wheel well though. I'd ask a few other exhaust places, before going ahead.

I dont have any pics but like I said earlier my ef has a twin tip. And its a twin 3". Was originally on a single 3" system but now is on a 2.5". There was no problems with it fitting on an ef. Would have to cut the bumper on the earlier e series though.

ok all it seems that there is a little confusion here.

Yes, the exhaust bloke will have to bash the spare wheel tub in a little, this is because on the EFII, the spare wheel tub is a little different (sounds crazy, but i have same problem). so to put twin tips on an ef, there is modification needed.

all other models (e-abdl) fits up no worries.
i'd say go for it mate, who looks at the spare wheel tub anyway, just make sure you can fit a whel in there!! i was ginna heve mine done soon too!

(just if anyone thinks that the exhaust bloke is bullshitting, i test fitted myself to make sure, and it hits. the only way to make em fit is to have them sticking out even further than the LTD twin tips do... dunno bout u all, but i don't think so tim.)
