Note: As not all Australian States report at the same time, the data below is based on the previous full day reporting except for the Victorian 14 day moving averages.

17 new cases for Australia and 2 deaths so the CMR rises to 3.283% while active cases drop to 1,399. NSW recorded 4 cases, SA & Queensland recorded 2 each with the balance in Victoria.

The Victorian State 14 day moving average is now 13.79 with metro at 12.0 (11 unknown) and regional at 0.1 and no unknown cases. Victoria reported 8 new cases for the last 24 hours.

No new cases and no deaths for NZ so CMR is 1.353% and active cases drop to 43.

The UK had a slightly higher 6,968 new cases yesterday. We know they are now not counting their mortalities by the WHO guidelines so we are going to ignore the CMR but even using their method they had 66 deaths yesterday.

Just over 50.5k new cases in the USA yesterday and 920 deaths sees CMR drop to 2.836% and active cases drop to 34.0% with the raw numbers rising. Note that the USA is actually minus one day due to time differences.

Other notable points:
The USA completes 109M, India 76M, UK 25M and Argentina 2M tests;
India passes 100k deaths;
Morth America passes 9M cases;
Europe recorded a new (amended) daily case high of 64,155 (1/10);
Asia recorded a new daily case high of 119,629 (1/10);

Greece (460); UAE (1,181); Lebanon (1,291); Hungary (1,322); Poland (2,292); Belgium (2,607 - the highest since 15/4); Nepal (2,722); Czechia (3,796); Netherlands (3,825); Ukraine (4,633) and Argentina (14,687) recorded a new daily high; those in blue for the second consecutive day and those in red for a third or more consecutive days.

It will be interesting to see australias infection rates coming into the warmer months if they improve. Queensland has been pretty good numbers wise during winter, but their winter is nowhere near as cold as victoria. My uneducated thoughts as to why Tasmania got away seemingly lightly is due to lower population and lower population density. And even if the same % of the population are idiots as the rest of the country, the same % of a lower population = less idiots.
Now that the US is coming into colder months, it will be interesting to see if their infection rate which is quite high already skyrockets. Same with china, even if they claim its under control, their winters get pretty cold too. And their cities are way up there with the most densly populated in the world.
So i hope not, but untill they work out a vacine, it may turn into a ping pong battle between the northern and southern hemisperes.
