I've recently aquired a EF Series 2 falcon that runs on tickford gas and petrol and the fuel meter is playing up a bit (or so I think).
Lets say there is half a tank of fuel showing left after I have finished driving the car around for a while. When I turn it off and start it again the fuel is always a considerable amount lower. When you drive it goes up a bit again but never gets back to the point where it was at when you stopped the last time.. Is this normal or is something going on? |

I'll second that notion casper. My fuel can vary by 1/4 tank depending on incline. I know this happens with all cars - but Falcon absolutely shocking!!
I find it better using the diagnostic mode, use the unbuffered fuel reading and do the averaging in your head.

Falcon fuel guages are shockers. I use my Trip meter in dash instead. As soon as it reaches 350K, its time to top up. Usually fills about 60 odd litres, so ive got it worked well. Fills less if ive had some FWY/HWY driving.
Tend to ignore the Trip computer, it says i average about 15.5 L/100km. 350 to 60 L is a bit more then that.

Well I just put 24 litres in and got 200km out of that on LPG..
Is that a decent figure? Also that buffered fuel reading is only for petrol and not for LPG the first one reads all over the place |

It's because of the float level on the pump, i'm not exactly sure why, maybe it sticks or something?
But the gas tank uses it's own level, so that's why the fuel reading on gas is more accurate. |
