Try IGA, I can only get my favourite ice cream from there now. Seems as though Safeway and Coles are pushing out low volume item in favour of own branded replacements.

It could be because it lost popularity, I hated it as a kid and my kids can't stand it. My favorite from kraft is the block cheese you get off the shelf not the cold section. Few slices on country cheese biscuits brings back childhood memories. I find iga has the things we all like but usually not good quality and way overpriced. Finally the one down here began to sell icecream from the place I used to visit every year as a kid. Sadly it had been melted and re frozen.

That is absolute horse ****! I loved that stuff!

Granted - I haven't bought it for a while, because it doesn't last long unless I somehow manage to forget it's there.

Or they actually want to make a profit rather than leaving low volume stuff to go out of date on the shelves. The facts of life.

They would still make a profit whether it was Kraft or 'self branded' cheese spread, they've just got a bigger profit margin with their self branded stock. And it still comes from the same factory as the Kraft stuff too

They call it cheese spread but it probably contains a higher percentage of preservatives than milk lol. I can't eat that type of stuff, turn the label over to the ingredients and it's like a meth making process. Probably has traces of meth in it too as it'd have traces of everything else imaginable.

Easy Cheese contains milk, water, whey protein concentrate, canola oil, milk protein concentrate, sodium citrate, sodium phosphate, calcium phosphate, lactic acid, sorbic acid, sodium alginate, apocarotenal, annatto, cheese culture, and enzymes.............

Safeways in Geelong still stick them, so do Coles. I use them when I'm too
lazy to make mac and cheese with real cheese, I just stir that through cooked pasta...

I'm a store manager for IGA here in WA and we carry it. However Mondelez who own Cadbury, natural confectionary etc, will be closing off the kraft brand and as far as I know will be culling some lines. Vegemite is now being produced without the kraft logo and the kraft salad dressings have been replaced with zoosh or something like that.

There is every chance that the cheese spread will stay and they will just remove the kraft branding (which is more likely) or they might change the formula and relaunch it as a product.

If you are having problems getting it, bring a jar in or at least the barcode to your local IGA and they WILL be able to look it up on their back office and see if it is available from the Metcash warehouse. If they don't then go to another IGA.

So its probably healthy for you compared to just about everything you can purchase with a shelf life over 4 weeks.

No different to other processed food. If you studied what was in some food you wouldn't eat it. Like McDonalds - it gives you malnutrition and indigestion at the same time.

Noticed it is back on the shelves in new packaging. Looks like they were running out the old stock before restocking. Phew. Still ****ed GeeVee closed it's Knox factory in 2000 - have not found another sweet and sour pickle which is as good as the GeeVee product.

Although I don't eat much of any processed food, I have noticed both Coles and Woolworths in my area both stock this product. So maybe it's a regional issue.

Only if it sells, it is amazing how people think that because they buy it everyone else must too. And their own branded stuff is often cheaper so will sell 5-1 side by side. Like products are not always from the same factory either.
