Hi all,
I hope you all had a great Xmas & wish you all the best for the New Year. I'm in the midst of a number of various resto's at the moment. A few of them being ride on mowers and I'm having an issue with heavy surface rust on the muffler/exhaust so I'm trying to locate a high temperature paint for the exhaust manifold & muffler. Prior to now the high temp paint that I've been using is not up to the task just basically falls off when it gets hot & I don't want to go ceramic coating although it would probably be the best option but given that I have a few to do it would be a bit too costly. Surely there is something out there that could handle said task. I'm also still trying to find a way to quieten them down. I know it's a big ask but any recommendations from experience would be greatly appreciated. Cheers Grahame. |

I used a spray can of pot belly stove paint on the exhaust of my old race car and it turned out pretty good.

Thank you to those who responded much appreciated.
Ute83= Don't know that one but thanks for the heads up I'll keep it in mind. Yellow Festiva = You'd think so, but although the engine block can get very hot at times it doesn't reach the temperature of an exhaust/manifold that can throw out some serious heat. Just like most paints eng-blk paint is application pacific. 66Fairlane= I haven't tried that but have heard of good results from it so I'll see how I go with some other products recommended to me. Xr8-200= I have actually used that and it was pretty good but on these jobs that I have lined up require a different color, like an ceramic aluminium look. Cheers |
