Basically he skinned Elmo & decked out his shelf with the pelt. Looks/looked pretty different!

A bit of MDF and black suede and a lot of cutting made up my custom parcel shelf:

With the FPV I cut out of the roof lining's template, I was mucking around and decided to see what it would look like on the parcel tray. Used the leftover material from the roof lining, but it's too light so I'll re-do it with darker material, and leave the baby bolt holes out.

I wouldn't call red pimp fur as 'custom'..

Mine is custom, I can put up a pick when I get home.

No prob, did it take you very long to make it?
im guessing it was made out of a cardboard or thin mdf template?

Thanx. I just took the original parcel tray out and ripped the crappy carpet off. Then because it was so flimsy, I just made up some fibreglass resin and painted it on thick, made it nice and stiff. It stops the contact adhesive from soaking in too. Then went and bought some 3mm solid rubber/foam sheets from Clark Rubber and cut the template out. Stuck it on with contact adhesive, then stuck the new material over that with contact adhesive.

Nah bout 20 minutes after the resin had dried. I was going to make a custom mdf one, but couldn't be bothered mucking around with the centre light hump.

If your contemplating using good 6x9s go for at least 5 mm MDF. Just shape it and cover it with whatever you want.

Classic JBL GT series 6x9 are worth it. But im saving them for the next ride which will be OL' SKOOL so they will be right at home there. Not a big fan of 'pumpin' systems.

It's not for that reason.
6x9's absorb power and when run of a head unit cause distorsion. Then you need to run an amp, Fronts and sub need to be amped first so you end up running an extra amp just to run 6x9, wich means bigger cabling, etc.

I tried a design with the tickford wings on the roof lining, but couldn't decide which way to face it. It looked wrong both ways.
