Default GTHO turns 40 in August

As the thread title states he GTHO turns 40 Years old in August this year.
I wonder if FPV will release an anniverserary model...... Sadly i think itll be a stripes package rather than a car worthy of the title... oh well

It could be the rumored GTHO, probably set for release on the 40th anniversary coming up in August.

...Hey wait it's August already? Sigh.

Its not going to happen.Maybe with a coyote and S/C?....one day.

Out of left field and slightly off topic....................If FPV came out with a 350kw F6 and called it an F6 HO................would it not be the new icon and still celebrate the HO tradition?

You're actually correct, did you go to the Melbourne tip today too?

Red and white only, SC Boss 427.5 and tuned by "big fat man" performance.

i'd accept it, yes.. Doesn't mean die hard v8 boys would though. FPV is still a v8 company, so they would probably be best to do a V8 HO...although a 400kw F6 HO would be sa-weeet

Can you really have a GTHO in this day and age?
When I think of a GTHO I think of a ferocious muscle car, but I can't imagine a modern Falcon as a GTHO.

In my mind the only way a Falcon could live up to the GTHO badge is if it was a retro model, such as the latest Mustang, etc, but for a 4 door family car I don't think that'll ever happen.

A 350 KW V8 FG GTHO would outsell a 400kw F6 HO 2:1....

Halfway through August, can't see anything happening to commemorate it.

Had it been a stripe kit on a current model, IMO it would be an insult. HO in the day was the performance pinnacle of Australian motoring. If it was to be commemorated today then I would expect something spectacular rolling off the line.

Hasn't happened midway through the month, won't happen.

Wouldn't that be the reason every single car, in the entire history of auto manufacturing, has been produced ..... special edition or otherwise? If they didn't have some sort of gimmick ..... why bother? What would then seperate the makes and models?

For Ford to use HO on the back of a car would be great to see and look forward to it. If they dont over the next 5 years or so I think they should wait until the 50th comes around

Spoke in haste-apologies. Nothing like a S/C V8. Full stop.

I was under the impression (and pretty confident) that the HO is happening and it was to be next year in the 3rd quarter with the new SC car. Don't tell me they have changed their minds again!

Just because its supercharged doesn't mean it will be a GTHO. A standard GT could easily have a supercharged V8. :
