Smile Hi all - just got my corty back, starter question

Hey all,

I might have talked to some of you in other areas of the forums (because I drive a BA falcon). But i have now got my 78' TE Cortina back - I sold it to a mate about 5 years ago.

Some pics first -->

You can probably see that I have pulled some aux. stuff in the bay to give it a clean - the passenger hand side in the bay came out pretty good, the other side (the one with the bat mount) is a bit rusty.

My goal is to clean the car up ie. touch up trim, clean engine bay, fix all the electical (maybe re-wire, I think my soldering/system exp. is up to it) etc. No rush - just a bit of fun on the weekends.

My first question though is this - I want to recondition the starter because it is gone. I would like to recondition it myself but is it ones of those things where overall its best just to buy a new(ish) starter? If yes - what would be a suitable replacement?

Thanks guys

Ok I've pulled the starter off. The teeth are a little worn, the ring gear is stripped. Where is a good shop in vic to buy a replacement ring gear and also a new starter motor (or replacement)?? Thanks
