Default 300000 kms and still going strong, well sort of!

On my last trip back out to work my Fairmont clicked over 300000 kms. It is still going pretty well considering it is a 1994 EF fairmont, just has a few little issues to sort out.

My wife thinks I should get a newer car but I like my old fairmont, it has character and it is pretty good on fuel on the highway (7.5 L/100) which is mostly all it does.

Unsure what mine does on the highway as I have never reset the liters per 100klms before I jump on but that sounds like excellent fuel economy.

Mines on 12.3 liters per 100klms after a week of suburb driving and weekends drive for 6 hours on highway

The cars are good and will go forever , no need to update as your car will be good for stax more klms, of course general mantainence will be needed but that's the same with any car these days

I do 1500 kms a week in it and has everything I need, cruise, air con, mp3 audio and comfortable to ride in. At this rate it won't take long to hit 400000.

Good to hear they go forever!

my 95 wagon has 347,000 and I do about 500km a week - original head gasket is seeping down the side of the motor but it's not leaking inside - doesn't use a drop of oil. Around town it averages 10.4 ltrs per 100 with very low 7's on the open road.

I sometimes think I should trade up but I've owned it since 2000 and it basically costs me next to nothing to run. I've rebuilt the diff and replaced the T5 and all it needs now is the head redone - the lifters are getting noisy! I'll just keep on improving it I think.
