Yeah he gave him a good love kiss that's for sure. he's broken his wrist anyway, so he's out for a while.

He deserves to get at least 6 weeks for that, and based on his past, maybe even more.
It's about time that AFL introduces the yellow and red card system like in Soccer.
So there!!

That was a prime hit . .

Did you see stalkers eyes after he got hit? That made the hit look even worse, Barry is a big boy.

And apparently he has broken his wrist . . I think that he thought that the signs were Metal, Not cardboard, Therefor was trying to run into it and stop himself, but the thing gave way.

Shame to see barry do that but a bit of biff makes it interesting but that was a bit to much. I wonder if the bloods will be back this year!! Even though his played a few good weeks we still have grundy and davis to take his place. Plus his form last year wasnt great should be interesting to see where who gets dropped etc when barry, spider and malceski are all back because the side looked good tonight!!

Staker was lucky to be saved from that embarrasing performance by West Coast. Was funny watching Waters stand up to Hall at quarter time and all the other eagles are just standing back watching.

His past has no affect on the outcome. The AFL has a points system which carries over each year but Barry's clear of any past points atm so it's purely on that hit and how bad they judge to how many points he will get. Lets leave the red/yellow card system to soccer, why change our game after 150 years.

Barry being an ex boxer, maybe he heard a bell instead of a whistle

Am an avid Swans Supporter...correction...Barry Hall supporter. He is passionate about the game and it is good to see some old fashion biffo in the game! He is a great player and he tried to walk over at quarter time to apologise but was pounced on...sorry...one eyed Barry supporter here. He was right...everyone else was WRONG!!!

My bad, just got caught up in the blood letting that all these people are putting across saying what he did to Staker was good for the game...

Hall is a brute and is a better fit in a zoo with an enclosure around him to keep the other apes safe from him.

Seem to be a few precious people in here, maybe they should go back to watching Soccer and other non contact sports that they can watch comfortably in their cardigans drinking their warm milk.

Barry Hall is a lot like Cameron Mooney.
On his day, can be a very dominant player.
However, both suffer moments of lunacy where they lose their heads.
Both players have been disciplined in the last year, minimising suspension (I know for sure in the case of Mooney), but today, both players became frustrated.

I was at the Geelong V St Kilda match today (I'm a cats man) and Mooney all day was having little battles. He purposely tripped a St Kilda player today with a slight tap. Although it definitely was there, I wouldn't except much more than a reprimand.

Hall's punch was the best outright biff since Lockett on Guy McKenna in 1989, or Denis Banks on Rhys-Jones in 1988(?). However, he is a thug too.
Maybe Sydney will use the same excuse as they did after the 2005 Preliminary Final (V St Kilda)...something about it being in the contest (correct me on that one).

Bring back the 1980s. When I say that, I mean before we had this over-corporatisation of the game, clash jumpers, and those little poofs in their ballet gear running around over-umpiring the game with stupid interpretations.
Back in the 1980s, a push in the back meant you shoved them in the back. Nowadays, you poke them with a fingernail, it's a free. Say, "Aww, come on" to the umpire and it's 50 metres.

Stuff it. Just replay Gary Ablett highlights every week and I'll be satisfied.

Nothing wrong with footy and being a contact sport because I love it, but using a clenched fist like that means that it was meant to be a punch. Simple.

Port led by 47 points in the third quarter. Then Brisbane almost doubled their score alone in the last quarter (9 goals 6 I think it was) after scoring 9 goals 10 behinds over three quarters.

Shows that Port is not the champion team that their grand final appearance suggested last year. Admittedly, I was never convinced, as a lot of things fell their way last year.

Are you sure that Barry Hall's wrist is sore from hitting the fence?

He sure didn't see it coming, right square in the jaw. Mike Tyson would be proud of that, especially being a fellow rock ape.
