Hi all,
Picked up a 1990 KF laser hatch, auto, 1.6 carby really cheap last week and ive been fixing a few issues its had but have hit a wall It starts and idles fine, no misses or stumbles at all. It will drive fine all day if you stay under half throttle. When you try to go full throttle anywhere near the top of a gear it jerks and hesitates and you lose all power. This happens in all gears but if you rev it while its sitting still it revs fine. So far I've done spark plugs, leads, changed the dizzy to a much cleaner looking one i got with it, cleaned out the carby and float bowl and replaced the air and fuel filters. Still no luck. I have noticed that sometimes it looks like the float bowl doesn't come back up fast enough after you rev it. I'm thinking maybe the fuel pump but I'm not sure. Any ideas? Also i know its been asked many times before as I've searched the old threads a few times, Does anyone have a pdf of the repair manual? It has to have the carby section in it as I now have 3 different manuals all relating to the single or double ohc fuel inected models. Thanks in advance. |

I had the same issue with my KH 1.6 manual carby. Ended up needing a carby overhaul as the jets had become partially blocked. Cleaning it with carby cleaner on car was no use!! Full strip down and clean.

Hey thanks for the reply, we took it to our friend who is a mechanic he drove it and knew it wasn't getting the fuel when it was under throttle or going up a hill, he took of the carby and near the float there was a needle that wasn't high enough so he bend it to make it high enough and the car is perfect now. Hope this will help any others with the same issue xD
