Ive ordered my new boost controller today! There goes another $700 :( Well at least Im excited about the car again.

This weekend will see me ripping out the dash and trying to fit my screen so it can fold out in front of the heater vents for my car pc. Ill fit up the new boost controller, its an Eboost so looks like a guage. I might see if it can fit above the vents beside the rear demister button for a neat factory look. Im thinking about trying to mould it so it is angled towards the driver.

If I get time, I need to figure out how I want my amps and sub to go in the boot.

Then when all that is done I dunno?

bah! Just drive it A mate of mine has a higher hp'd car and barely drives it. I don't see the point of building it in the 1st place if the aim wasn't to drive it. May as well rip the engine out and sell it.

I'm going to do a higher hp engine than my current one in the near further (near further being within the next 12-24mths). Unless I get impatient ;) I can assure you it'll get driven

My car is hardly special enough to be "seen in the flesh". Just look on the road for any stock black AU1 XR6. Thats basically all it is. A dirty one at the moment too.

Ahh that sucks. Burnouts sounds like a good idea.

I know what you mean though, i'm siuffering the same thing (loss of interest) and i'm just looking at buying a car! It scares me to think i'm losing interest.
I guess there's just something so dissapointing about driving a VK...

Chin up. After a good thrash you'll be right back into it.

Its too hard to tell on the street, it only happens above 10psi and that equals wheelspin on the road before you can tell if it holds or not.

Its going on the dyno today. Hopefully all goes well!

Hopefully its sorted before it goes racing on the 13th!

I need to respray the bonnet so it might be time for that buldge I keep looking at. Then when I can get time off work ill be back up NSW to get it engineered.

Thanks for all your opinions.
Is amazing how the Nissian GTR 2.6l mtrs can pull such high wheel KW. & the 4ltr ford 6's with the work thats gone into your car is not getting over 300KW.
I saw a R33 GTR that pulls 430 KW at the wheels thats nearly 4 times the power of mine at the wheels at Hyper tec in Vermont.
Looking under the hood is scary. Image working on these cars or pulling up at some RACV country town mechanic to ask to find the problem.

difference is the 4.0 wasn't meant to rev like the nissan engines were. Hence their small cubic capacity. The nissan may make 300rwkw but @ what rpm? 7000? 7500? I couldn't imagine a 4.0 really going to 7000rpm and staying together. It is possible though.

Woot the boost controller fixed it! 307.9rwkw at about 14psi

Im a happy camper!

Re the GTR motors. Thats great but a 2 litre can make over 400rwkw too. Its not really the same. Think about the power delivery I get boost at 2000rpm, would a 430 rwkw 2.6litre be the same? Im sure there are heaps of other variables making the examples different. Turbo size, rpms, different coolers and piping, exaust systems etc etc etc.

Heathcote will be the real test! I hope its faster than 13.6 :P

I cant be bothered taking a photo of the dyno sheet right now so you will have to take my word for it. It looks much like all the others except a bit higher. Its against boost too not AFR's.

This will mean the end of my power mods for a while. Not so sure on how strong the auto is.

Whats the tractive effort saying? Has it risen? With my car I found street tyres were only good for 13.2's @ 230rwkw. Now I have more it'd probably go faster but I'm not willing to risk it yet.

I didnt get a tractive effort readout, the boost isnt coming on as hard as before so in 2nd and 3rd wheelspin is only minor and I can keep my foot flat to the floor. First is useless! Ive got some ET streets that Ill be using on the day anyway.

The ET streets will give you some nice traction. I dare say you'll blow the 13.6 into the weeds ;)

When is Heathcote? I thought there was one on a few weeks ago.
Am I going mad, or did I just misread the thread?

I'm off to the thread again! LOL

Of August, September?

I knew something must have been up because, there was no talk of how it went, who got the best times, who served it up to the Gen 3 boys and so on!!!

I was greatly looking forward to reading about it, but now I know why the forum has been silent!

Well on Saturday night there where 5 of us in Dan's car and let me tell you that thing hammers like nothing I have ever been in before. I especially liked the wheel spin in to 3rd gear at a speed where everything around me started to blur together. Can't wait to see it force it's way into the low 12's and maybe even 11's after a couple of practice launches at Heathcote in a couple of weeks.
