Default Caliper colour?

I'm getting new brakes put on, and wanna know what colour i should paint the calipers.

They are red at the moment, but it's out of these:

- Red
- Black
- Blue

My car is silver, so i was leaning towards black or a blue type of colour. My interior colour, is/will be a Black/White/Burgandy colour scheme, so i don't think red will fit too well. Plus i take it as a try hard brembo thing.

Throw the cans of paint in the air and see which one lands first

Nah, just get a photochop done of the colours and see what appeals.

How about silver? Or a dark metallic grey (eg meteorite)? It would look classy without being overly obvious. You do not need to paint brakes with special paint even though some will tell you that you need high temp paint - you don't. If you're brakes ever get that hot, then the paint peeling is the last thing you will need to worry about - stopping being the first thing that will be on your mind!

So you could go any colour in the Holts duplicolour paint can range. One large can will do all four calipers twice. A coat of alloy wheel clear coat will help keep them nice and clean - you could use normal clear coat, but the alloy wheel clear coat is supposed to be more resistant to brake dust stains etc.

BTW - my brakes are red on the blue XR, and Blue on the black wagon.

Theres a caliper specific paint you could buy, comes in a kit form with a caliper cleaning agent & an epoxy type paint.

Out of the three, go blue.. every man and his dog has got red, plus the blue will go real nice with the silver.

blue or black will match silver the best. I've done the brakes on both our cars red, but on the AU it doesn't really suit so i'll be doing them gloss black soon.

Silver.
I've done my hubs and calipers silver and I like the way it is subtle, but if it catches your eye you notice it. Clean, but not in your face.

no problem with red brakes at all, if they left the factory like that. red from the factory means Performance Calipers. painting them red yourself doesnt.

what about black calipers? (as seen on the premium brake package optional on BA) or blue calipers? (standard on GT, F6 and Pursuit)

Got new calipers in yesterday, so I will be painting them OFF the car this time.. Not red, haven't decided on colour just yet.

As stated in this post...

So really my current red scheme setup with the single spot just don't cut it any more.. Unless I was driving a Mini.. actually I think the Cooper S actually has bigger brakes.. :

Thanks guys, I'm really leaning towards blue/blueprint and should slightly match the blue Ford badge on my wheel.

By the way, my brakes that are going on are AUIII TS50, so they are red, which were how they came from the factory. But still every one has red, & i want something a little different. Booked in to get done on Friday, will let you'se know how it goes, and post pictures.

Just to let you know, this is what's going on:
Full Premium aka Tickford Calipers
Braided Brake Hose Lines
DBA 4000 Slotted Discs (Front)
DBA Slotted Discs (Rear)

And any Pre-AU2, looking for a small brake upgrade (twin-pot), I'm selling my factory AUIII calipers.
