Default Mk2 Corty 5 stud conversion

Hi all,

I've recently picked up a Mk2 Cortina that I'm going to build up as a drag / event car and I want to convert the stud pattern from 4 stud to 5 stud. The rear will be taken care of with a Hilux rear axle. My question is, what do people use to convert the front wheels? Do any Falcon discs fit on the original spindles?

Cheers,
Sam

You will need to up the braking capacity as well for drag. I wouldn't depend on the OE brakes on the Corty to stop you after a 11 sec run. Hell I wouldn't depend on them after a 18 sec run!!
Highly recommend Hoppers Stoppers for your conversion. They can do a 5 stud, bigger discs and a twin pot caliper coversion for your MK2 Corty for about $1'200.

Thanks mate. The plan is to run a turbo 4.0 in it so hopefully sub 11s will be on the cards. Do you know if that kit would include a vacuum brake booster?

this is the hoppers kit here no booster included

there is also this on ebay here
if you keep an eye out he will put a kit up for auction that you can normally get for a much better price. i got 1 for my esky for $455, it is a well made kit & fits very good & easy

i asked a few people about a brake booster when i did mine & most were of the opinion that due to the lightness of the car it would make it very easy to lock the brakes

Stay clear of those eBay kits. They've been known for having issues with fitment and build quality. When the eBay kits first arrived on the scene, they were advertised as the Hoppers Stoppers kits at a cheaper rate trying to use Hoppers Stoppers good reputation for their benefit. Buy at your own risk.
