A BTR 4-speed? What a rarity! I bet only 150 wreckers in Victoria have one...

You can use any box from EF onwards; actually, maybe even as far back as EB2. So, yes, any wreckers will have one - they go for between $250 and $1000, depending on state (ie more for reconditioned, less for fresh from donor vehicle).

why would you get ripped at the wreckers?
I'd be damn surprised that if you spent half an hour ringing around to auto shops around the place you couldn't find one that would be able to supply and fit a reco box for under $1500, all done and dusted by COB tomorrow.

Alternatively, ring around to the wreckers, just find a low kay unit for the cheapest price possible and use it until it's dead.

A BTR95le is a V8 EB series 2 to early EL auto, the AU V8's have a BTR97le. At which being a v8 one you would struggle from the wreckers a bit and would pay an arm and leg for unlike a 6cyl one.

But they are interchangeable with the earlier 95le's, except you'll need to put on your gear position switch and inhibitor switch cause they are different. And an added dipstick depending on what car it come out of.

6cyl's AU's have a BTR93le.
