Default conversion: manual and diff's

1 question floating around in my mind is to do with auto computers and manual boxes, how do u "bypass" or "trick" the computer into making it idle all the time
and is it as simple as pop her in and go or other things have to be modified to?
after installing a box and pedal box ofcourse

are diffs from ea-el the same as in do they bolt right up to any model

cheers nick

its tricking the ecu to think its in neutral.

with the diffs:
the handbrakes make a difference
the trailing arms
the issue of 25 vs 28 spline

also most wreckers/people etc... seem to sell manuals as "manual conversion kits" which will come with the ecu and everything else you need

i'll let ya know when i put mine in.

There's a very nice guide on fordforum.com. It's more for 4 speeds, though the principle is the saME.

Some conversions come with CFI ECU's and are not much use to most people. I am using my auto ECU with no tricking of the ECU and it idles fine. But I also blocked the idle solenoid except for three pin holes.
