Hi all.I need some advice on welding colorbond steel frames.Do I require a mig or arc welder? Do you have any advice on welding?

A question this colourbond frame you talk of is it painted,if it is then no matter what welder you use your going to burn paint...if its gal steel then I would use mig,it is much kinder on the surfaces.

Any way you do weld, arc or mig, you will have to treat it afterwards to prevent oxidation. If it's thick metal, arc welding should do the job, if it's thinner metal, maybe mig or oxy, then an etch primer applied before painting?
