Default Ford Museum Melbourne

Hi,
I’m going to Melbourne very soon and was wondering if there is still a Ford Museum of any sort at Broadmeadows or Geelong.
Thanks.

No. The Ford Discovery centre in Geelong closed quite a few years ago.

If you are passing via Shepparton, there’s a car museum there, or 2 Holden ones, 1 in Echuca and one in east Gippsland in trafalgar

Probs a bit out of the way, but there is the Gippsland Vehicle Collection located in Maffra, about 200km east of Melbs.

https://www.gippslandvehiclecollection.org.au/

Not specifically Fords, but they do have a varied collection.

Ford either kept or donated the contents of the old Ford Discovery Centre.

Amazing Ford tractor museum in Nyah Victoria.
Not cars but an amazing collection of Ford tractors and a few trucks collected from all over the world.

It was at the Geelong Museum before they closed along with many other ex Ford Discovery displays, you can see it in the old website images below:

Lindsay Fox has a pretty good car museum in Mebourne, might be worth a look.

I did the tour of his museum back-to-back with a factory tour of Broadmeadow's. This was circa 2003 when Broadmeadow's was at capacity.

I ended up going to the car museum at Launceston as it was part of our trip. They had a couple of nice Falcons there plus the HQ Monaro that almost fell off the Tasman bridge in Hobart in 1975 when one of the pillons was struck my a ship called the MV Lake Illawarra.
