g'day
ive got a '74 1.3lt MK1 escort, which is used for mudbash, (( www.mudbash.com )Major annual, Rover event) which i am in the process of getting going.. did some testing last week down at a farm. and found out that i may have had a engine fire, as there was a lot of smoke coming from the engine bay.. but after a good look around, it looks like the engine is blowing smoke out of the oil cap/breather.. what would cause this?? and how could i be fixed?? any idea would be great.. cheer's Mike |

If its blowing enough smoke out of there for you to think its on fire, then it sounds like broken rings to me. Do a compression test on it.
