Default Couple of questions.

Hi peeps,
As many of you might know, i have ordered my Zetec auto for delivery late may/early June.

Just have a few questions for you guys,
Firstly what colour is the backlighting on the car at night, speedo etc? does anyone happen to have a night pic of the dash lit up?

Secondly, how hard is it to change the stereo, and pop in say a sony mp3 player, they had no options at ford, not even for a 6stacker, and single cd players get on my nerves, unless ofcourse they are MP3, which they arent.

Lastly, when is the first free service due, is it 1000km? and how do you think its best to run it in? nice and easy for a bit?

Thanks in advance
Danny :

1. Backlighting is mainly green for stereo etc.
2. Changing the head unit is a right kerfuffle. The stereo has an AUX button so there should be some way of jacking in a pod fairly easily.
3. There is a 3000km check but don,t know if they change the oil or not. I will anyway I think. I took it easy for the first 500km, tried not to go over 4000rpm

Hey, I'm kind of a newbie too, but this is my first chance to help somebody. Feel free anybody to correct me if I'm wrong.

1: I have an LX model, so I'm not 100% sure if the Zetec colors are the same on the dials. Mine are cool though, the needle & sorounds glow blood red, very schmick. I'm gonna put in some EL Dials eventually: http://www.etronicauto.com/

2: This question has been covered in a few earlier topics, but I'm just about to add an audio setup in my car.

You can get this:

http://www.fordforums.com.au/attachm...id=14539&stc=1

From: fordpartsuk.com
part number - 1148612 For the Sat/Nav Surround - £32.20
part number - 1222161 For Adapter Kit - £26.34

Unless you're just gonna hack into your dash yourself, I wouldn't.

3: Your first free service (piece of mind inspection) is at 3,000 I'm pretty sure, unless it's changed in the last 6 months.

How'd I do?

That's cool mate. That dash part is for a WP not a new WQ, new 1 is different. Don't know if the inside bit will fit though. I reckon an MP3 CD is the best way to go. Don't like leaving the pod in the car.
