Default Roadworthy certificate help,please

Hi all. I have an XC ute Ive replaced ALL the bushes, shocks etc. The body is straight. No major rust. tyres are good, etc etc etc. I have been to get a roadworthy and it got knocked back! Due to rust mainly.Any rust in it is not structural . Did I get dudded . Anyone know someone who is might be reasonable? Im in the south eastern suburbs. I dont want a dodgy certificate, just a fair go.
Cheers
Jamie

A little more info would help. Like what state and where's the rust?

You could also take somewhere else and ask them if the rust is acceptable.

In Vic that is correct, it used to be structural, but it was changed a few years back

easy
If there is rust on a panel that you can not unbolt then yes it has to be welded.
if it is on a panel that can be unbolted then you must not be able to hurt yourself on it if you touched the car .
Hope that's a little more easy er of a explanation for you

hey jamiepb if you just want to get it roadworthy you can just bog over the rust or cut it out its up to you and not that hard.my old hk kingswood wouldnt pass because it had a little rust in the lower back quarter panel where i reversed into a star pickit.i just got an angle grinder cut out the rusty hole put some card board behind it and boged it up.it passed with flying colours.hope this helps catch ya

I'd have to find my tech bulletin but from memory regardless whether panel is unboltable or not,any rust that is a hole or would form a hole if pressed is unroadworthy. Filling the hole over is good. _2:
