well im going to say that firstly you have no one to blame but yourself. you cant say you didnt know about the hoon laws.
secondly im going to say that you will be done for doing 150kmh even if you werent. these laws are brand new and whislt they are still fresh in the news headlines, you WILL be made an example of so others can see they are serious about people driving irresponsibly.
also only having your Ps for one month is going to make it WORSE imo. the rules of the road should still be fresh in your mind.
good luck, cop it on the chin and take it like a man.

Hey mate.

THe facts according to you are :

You freely admit to speeding at 25kmh and over.

The policeman said he ESTIMATED your speed to be at 150kmh and over even though he has a reading of 127kmh.

This is a huge rort, if police are going to take away you car then there should be no doubt about it. The difference in 20kmh is loosing your car!

You have to do 2 things.

1. Speak to a GOOD solicitor because you can and will have this reduced to speeding 25kmh and over. I think its 3 points and 200something dollars? Big difference from loss of licence and car impoundment. Good ones arent cheap. But neither is not driving.
PM me if you'd like some help.

2. This isnt as important but i would go and see a civil lawyer in regards to damages against teh police for time and inconvenience lost by the policeman sprucing up the speed just to make an example of you.
If youre poor goto a NO WIN NO FEE lawyer.
You wont have a good chance of winning but at least it will go on the officers record and you will make their life difficult.

Good luck with it. DOnt take it lying down, explain the situation to your parents, be reasonble and try to get their support.

And dont listen to other peoples crap about it being your fault. Its becuase of people like them that we have these laws to contend with.
You WERE speeding and accept responsibility. You WERENT hooning and you werent doing 150kmh. You shouldnt be made an example of.

so basically normally he'd cop a 1 month suspension, but because of the 150 'claim' its a 12 month.

I'm saying the cop is completely rorting it, i mean yes.. it wasn't helped by the speeding. But clearly making up things isn't part of law, this is going from what's been posted. But if that happened to me i'd be sh**ted off.

Although, i wouldn't be speeding like that

Also, over 100k on P's... bye bye licence...
2 things I've learnt from my speeding fines.
a) Admit you were going what the clocked you at (or less). No more, ever. Don't show any doubt.
b) There is no reason for travelling at those speeds, take it on the chin and move on.

In Victoria, P-platers can go at the usual speed limit. No 80kph restrictions. Edit: Oops, I was a bit slow.

In SA, L plates = 80k, P plates = 100k, no exceptions.

ever since these laws, iv settled down stax, cause knowing first hand that its happened to a friend of mine already, basicly same punishment for what this dude is goin to get, really mate you are not goin to come out of this a winner

only thing you can say is that you were doin 127 and not 150, but really its not gonna change the outcome much

hopefully lesson learnt mate, and goes for lots of people, keep it slow and steady

we can forget the P plate speed restrictions now, they arnt an issue with this :P
the main issue is if the cop has lied about said speed, atleast he's admitted he was in the wrong.

if he gets off with a 127km speeding fine vs a 150 its the difference between 1 month licence lost and 12 month, not to mention the car impounding fees and lack of car for the next 2 days.

Why after having your licence for a month, do you feel it was necessary to do 27kph over the limit?
I think nthe officer may be 'rorting the system' but that is to teach you a leason. Which I hope you have learned.

Now if you were doin 103 or less, than ypu have every right to complain, but you were doing 27 klms too much.

I hope you like the bus service!

first of all damn second of why admit it before he said anything and always ask to see the radar gun he clocked you on, like cmon unless they have actual evidence they shouldn't be able to just say from their grade A+ in physics. they have gotten so much tighter wanting to get anyone especially P Platers doin the slightest thing wrong and as for the dim interior light WTF

p-platers are not limited, AT ALL! well, apart from the speed signs of course lol, if its 110,l u can do 110 in victoria regardless if ur a p or l plater.

IMO that cop is an *** bandit, if the government wants to be this strict on hoons then why not be on cops for lying and making peoples lives harder, they should loose there badge if they do that sort of stuff, it should be a 2 way street but obviously its not
