Default Instrument panel question

Hey guys new here.

I just picked up a 2010 Tdci and I found out the dash and the radio lights remain on after the car has been turned off and the doors locked. Is this a common feature or a fault?

Certainly normal on the LT model TDCI
Only other problem usually on the bigger fords is sensor failure in door lock so car thinks door is open but I have not heard of that on a Focus.

I guess it also helps service/dealer people when customers bring their cars for service - no need to chase keys etc...
Dont know what you mean Photn, what is 'follow me home lighting' feature, can you enlighten me on that one please... thanks...

Head lights stay on for about 30 seconds.
This worked well on my 2007 TDCi , but will not work on my Mark II LV TDCi
(December 2010) , although the manual says it does.

I think they got rid of that feature off the later models as my 2009 LV TDCI doesn't have it either. That really bugs me how they take it off one model and then reintroduce a model futher down the line as a new feature.

I agree with Kevino, i would presume this would be a part of the home safely light feature. although why the interior light stays on astounds me?

Same behaviour with my TDCi, why they stay on I don't know but you just gotta love the vehicle.
