Default WS Tyre Pressures?

Hi everyone,

Woh I haven't been on here for a while!! I hope everyone's fez is still doing ok!
Mine is up to 7000K's and I'm still loving it.

Anyway I'm driving from Melbourne to Adelaide this weekend and was wondering about tyre pressures?

The book (page 117) is a little confusing because depending on load it says the fronts should be anywhere between 32 & 35psi and the rears anywhere from 26 & 46psi depending on load.

I will be driving up with a couple large travel bags and one other person so I was thinking maybe 33psi in the front and 36psi in the rear?

What do you think?

Cheers

Daniel

The rear has less weight than the front, even with a couple of bags.

As for what the manual says. Ford aren't paying for tyres.

Read into it what you like. I'd be staying with 32 myself

Each to their own but for some reason I've always gone for 34 all round and its been what I have preferred. Good balance of grip, comfort and economy (not that it can be proven) but is all subjective.

Anyways hope you have an enjoyable and safe trip mate. Remember don't speed (or at least don't get caught doing it) otherwise you'll be done for double the demerit points during the holiday period.

I keep mine at 34, 36 for longer trips with more people in the car ... never let them drop below 32 at an absolute bare minimum.

It's all personal opinion, but I'd definitely have mine at 34 ...

I was going to ask this very question as I wasn't sure what people suggest for the 195/45R16 tyres on the WS Zetec. Sounds like 34-36 should be fine.
