Might sell too many Mondeos if they did that. The 2.2 diesel is now available with the 6-speed auto (not Powershift) in Europe, so they no longer have the excuse that it's manual only. But I would love to drive a 2.2 manual Mondeo - 147 kW with similar torque to an XR6 turbo!

lol what I have been saying here for ages next month Peugeot will release a Mondeo competitor the 508 with that very same engine 150Kw @ 450Nm and the beefed up Aisian auto that Ford also puts in the Mondeo to handle the extra torque the 2.2L is now available in the UK
