Could be in fact ... I watched a couple of overseas reviews on it that mentioned $450 rrp ..guessing in USD..

This is one of them https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=XrBn7Eu03Hk

You're right , in Australia it'd be a lot more no doubt courtesy of AUD and GST I guess...

My HO Scale model railway is my main thing and also a bity of radio control these days but I do drool over the Lego Technic range and would like to have a go one day .. Regular mundane but necessary life expenses (bills) also of course but geez this'd be fun . Paul's (my friend) Millenium Falcon has over 7000 pieces ...The book weighs a ton !!!!

OK, I've lost all patience.

If a mod posts something that has to do with moderating a thread it is NOT up for discussion within the thread. If you want to argue it then PM the mod, Russ or me and we will make a ruling. Let's be clear though, you may not like our decision.

The next person that argues with a mod in a thread will be getting a ban.

Yep, I have had enough - you know who you are.

Lego has come a long way since I last remember ****ing around with it (early to mid 90s at latest). I have to go and have a look at the Lego certified store in Civic sometime though I worry it could become expensive

You can see sets at LEGO https://www.lego.com/en-au/themes/technic

Link above is for technics, couple of bikes. If you look around can probably get a bit cheaper than LEGO directly.
Im the same, im not interested in hordering unbuilt kits. Wheres the fun in that? But its definitely worth more than i paid.

you've just added to my list of debt.

I've built lego on and off my whole life, ended up with big collections, sold them, started again etc. Mainly build technic now. Found a stash in my cupboard from the 80s, Pirate/Space/all kinds of stuff, might be worth something now. I also build the Architecture Skylines kits - have Singapore and Dubai on the way also. These photos really, are, just terrible. In the background of the group car pic you can see part of the Seinfeld set (and a Godzilla cat). A few 1:18s sitting there awaiting panel beating and detailing also. I have the Land Rover Defender partly made (just gearbox etc as pictured) but have been waiting on one of the part 2 bags they left out of the kit to be sent from Denmark.

Time for the worst photos i've ever taken, apologies for that. Also demonstrates my wife's obsession with cookbooks.

I’ve got the dozer on the way from Zavvi, got it 30% off, the trade off is I have to wait weeks for it to arrive, as it’s come from over seas.

This is my latest project, wasn’t going to get it, as I’m not a big motorbike fan, but they had one built in the Lego shop and saw how detailed it was..

I also want to get the GT500, but it's probably the worst rendition of a car lego has ever made in my opinion. Looks simply astoundingly bad - which makes me want it more.

There’s more tubs and unbuilt sets that have already been packed up, and more on order, including Titanic. Tell you what though, they’re making the sets more adult and charging adult prices too!
Wow thats an impressive collection mate.

Id rather order parts and build a MOC
This might be my next truck i reckon.

Only 2 of those trucks are lego kits

I have 4 hobbies that dedicate my time to. AFL, Weber/ bbq, astronomy and Lego. None of these are cheap so cheap shelving it is

When we move this year the shelving will be inbuilt, then this stuff goes into the shed.

Dont worry mate im in the same boat, and actually thought about using what you have.
Between Lego, R/C cars/ Real car and mountain bikes it can chew the funds but its worth it.
Gotta spend it on something right?

Awesome ...I'd have a job deciding which of these two models , excavator or D11 would be the one I'd buy ..Problem solved ..Do both eventually ..How did you buy them , retail or online ?

On my model railway HO 1:87 scale I have a Liebherr 974 and a couple of Cat D 9 Hi Track's in HO scale for scenes on the layout later on .. The Liebherr does dwarf the dozers in real life too ..The 974 is a monster and the D9's aren't exactly small .

So funny story.
Firstly i purchased the Liebherr from Zavvi at a good discount, took about a month to get here.
I came across a second one via an online raffle on an FB page im apart of, cost me $20
I kept it unopened for ages as didnt know what to do with it.
Eventually sold it to an old work mate who bought it for his son.
Rest of my kits have been either been purchased from someone else either new or used or purchased online/instore.

Definitely the excavator in real scale would dwarf the D11T

After fininishing stage two of the defender, i've ballsed something up and the rear axle dif works fine when spinning one wheel only, but when you try to move both wheels forward or rearward at the same time, it locks solid. Any hints from those who've built it, before i go pulling it all apart :(

I think theres been a few folks that have had issues.
I think the only way to fix it to pull apart and rebuild. Id have a look on various lego groups as it was/is a common thing
