Q: (One for the Coupe guys) Which year did Ford achieve the memorable 1 - 2 finish and who were the drivers behind the wheels at the time?

Windscreen got smashed, forget year, was a commodore.
Bucket of water was thown over pit wall from the pit crew to help clean the windscreen but the car hit the water at speed and resulted in damage.

In what year was the safety car first used?

Which car snuck across the line right behind the 1977 Moffat/Bond 1-2?

(hint - look at pic of finish, or check out old Moffat GT Radials ad.)

It was a RS2000 of course! ;)

Can't tell who the driver is, but it's either Rod Stevens / Tony Farrell, Eric Boord / Keith Poole or Bruce Hodgson / Dave Morrow.

Well, I suppose I better think of a question....

In what year did Peter Brock win the race in which he started in car 05 but finished driving another car and also not crossing the line first or even second?

Good Question. Answer is number 13, in the 1977 race.

Which year did the race start with a 'Rolling" start?

it was # 13 in 1976

In 1983 Dick Johnson took a wild ride into the trees in qualifying how much $$$$ did the public donate to him to get the green machine back on the track ????

he drove a capri in 1976. his coupe was #13 in 1977 driving with vern schuppan. the public donated nothing in 83 - certainly not to the same degree as they did in 80 after the rock

sorry if my post came out too gruff. his first bathurst start in the coupe was 77. it was an xu1 in 73, an alfa in 74, did not enter in 75, and a capri in 76

i believe the australian public donated around $40,000 in 1980 and edsell ford II matched it with ford money, so he ended up with just over $80,000

it happened at sandown in 93. brad jones was the driver, hormone replacement therapy was the boof headed team

although something similar happened at bathurst too i believe. there was a commodore around 2-3 years ago with no windscreen
