Default 78 Cortina 2.0 Ghia

I'm a Fairlane - Galaxie guy, so first time in this room. Mods delete if not applicable.
I was cruising through some USA sites this morning and was surprised when this came up and thought the article would interest you guys. Beautiful little car in outstanding condition. With todays exchange rate and Govt gouging it would owe you around AUD$28k landed here. Enjoy.

Wow what a gem, thanks for sharing.
Interesting it still has its UK rego plates and dealer sticker. I'm sure there would be some interest for it over there, wonder if it'll make its way back home?

*Front and rear bumper bar, wing mirror,
*internal door trim, window winders and door handles,
*instruments dials and console
look different to me to the aussie Cortinas, most likely due to the amount of aussie content they had to have back then

Haven't seen those wooden door caps before, reminds me of the Mk2 1600E

I think the UK mk2 Escort Ghias had the dash wood. I know my TE ghia had no wooden interior bits it also had alloys which it appears the UK ones didnt get.

I thought the early aussie MK2 Escort Ghia 1600 with the webers (pre ADR76) came with the wood on top of the door trim, but I cannot find anything to prove this, only wood on the dash panel like this Cortina

Front bucket seats, center dash vents and radio location are different on the aussie vs pommy Cortina too

Our Aussie TE Cortina had a Ghia much the same seats and all and not to mention a big 4.1L X flow 6cyl so our Aussie Cortina's were the best.

Even tho the 2.0L 4sp Cortina handled better and were a better fanging car around town, than the big 6cyl. but a 4.1L 4sp or auto on the highway running is better.
