Default Next Victoria Police Div Van

Attached are pictures of the prototype Divisional Van to be produced by Holden for Victoria Police. Metro models will be dedicated LPG and country models choice of petrol/lpg. I was hoping they would have gone back to Fords.

Looks like an ambo. why did the police go to holden cars?

One more question, what model commodore would that be the equivalent to?

Cheers

Still would rather the falcon though..

Looks like they went for the rear end which could be hosed out easily if needed!!
Rear entry has a Star Trek style about it too!!

I prefer the look of the VW Multivan divvy cars that NSW is currently using. Also it seems like they are also using Ford Rangers now phasing out the Rodeo.

I like the look of the Holden one at the start of the thread...a lot better than the ice cream van anyway, only problem is only two people can ride in the front, at least the Rodeo can fit four to five people in the cab.

The new pod will have a tilt of 20 degrees to the rear, to allow for hosing out and drainage.

They have been out for awhile those dunnydore divvy vans. I was chauffeured around in one back in November last year when i lost my licence. They could at least put in a grab rail for the way they drive around corners so you don't end up whacking all sides of the rear.

A company I used to deal with a few years ago had the contract for the div vans but went under a year or so ago, who's manufacturing the canopies now?
You can PM me if you like.

Do they actually have a high enough Load Rating to carry all the equipment and Prisoners in the back?

I thought you would all be happy with the use of a Holden. It is after all for picking up those who like to punch, kick and vomit all over a paddy wagon, Holden bashing at it's finest.

I was gettin a ride in a Rodeo divvi a little while back - not the greatest zone to be in, spesh when the coppas are gunning through every corner to get their rocks off at the sound of my torso crashing from wall to wall, roof to roof etc. lol

The old Crewman utes were pretty bad, very lacklustre performance and the brakes were purely pathetic. The mob that make the pods also attach a aluminium step onto the rear bar that is the full width of the vehicle. This step usual covers the exhaust causing the plastic rear bar to melt. Full of good designs, this mob.. The VW bongos are a pretty good vehicle, much better than anything else on the fleet.

The 2 door div vans have not yet been released, as least not in Victoria. Most likely it was a crewman.

Yeah the WA Police obviously like the Falcon ute and they can simply swap the prisoner module from one model to the next. They seem to have adapted the old AU/BA/BF module to the FG utes pretty well.

The reason I asked is that I heard (not sure how true) that the old VS Ute based Divvy Van was near its load limit with 2 big burly Officers and all their equipment. The only Prisoner they could hold in the back was a feather weight Jockey to keep them under the rated limit.

I was hoping Red Rum could answer.

I recon they look like a mini SWAT van. The fibreglass cage they have on the Rodeo/Colorado/Ranger look like a converted wheelchair taxi.

The OP Commodore and the Falcon cages looked the goods tho.
