Default AFF Drag Racing Classes

No im not talking about going back to school for drag racing.lol

But....Some of the quicker BA V8's are running in the 12 second bracket quite easily now that there is a couple of people around that can tune them and take advantage of using diff gears and converters etc..

Can i suggest that the exhibition class be dropped to 11.9999 and under, as 12.99 and under is becoming the norm not the exception.

I am happy to hear some of the other peoples views, but make them constructive please, i dont want it turned into another rabble.

Sound like a good idea Cam. I would imagine there will be alot more BA's in the 12's through winter!
Hope i will be one to join that club soon.... :Up_to_som

Sounds like a good idea.
Anyone know how the 12.99 was arrived at? and have the criteria changed?

I believe there was discussions about exhibition class being dropped to 12.50 or under for the next Heathcote meet for this exact same reason. I'll follow that up next week.

Gotta agree,11.99 makes a lot more sense. It seems ludicrous that an unopened 8 can be clssified as an exhibition car.

I agree with 11.99.
I think I mentioned it befor the last Forums meet.
I think there will be to many cars pulled out of the V8 low comp if 12.99 stays as the cut off for exibition.
Im not there yet but I plan to be......(once I stop breaking things)

This has been discussed before and as Casper said.. is being reviewed anyway.
12.99 is still a fast car and we run our drag days for the benefit of everyone including the slower cars. Having said that ... it's in the think tank.
These days are meant to be for sun and socialising. I'd hate to see people withdraw from the day just because they can't win anything.

A 17 second automatic could win a DYO class in fact it could probably be more consistant than a high powered car which may wheel spin.

Of course it could, that's a given.. but the DYO isn't based on classes.

I'd have to agree with dan here. Due to the fact of older cars running these times (12.999 and under)
