Default Costco Fuel

With the new Costco servo opening in Brisbane this week im wondering if anyone knows anything or has opinions on the fuel. They have 98 for under $1.50 which seems to be about 15c cheaper than other places.
As it is within 5-10mins drive, it is a convenient option for me but just a little cautious about it as I have an xr8 tuned for 98 so I don't really want to be putting crap in it

You gotta be a costco member which costs ya $55 or $60 for a full membership to get to be able to buy from them, I'd like to know who supplies their fuel too.... Sorry to hijack..

Shouldn't be any worries, government is strict on petrol stuff, so if its labeled 98 octane it will be no less then that.

Just do what i do with costco. If you buy a gift card you don't have to pay for a membership. If i think i want something i buy a $10 giftcard online and then if i buy something i pay the difference with the credit card. If not i save my $10 for next time.

I would think the fuel would be fine, at the end of the day it would be coming from one of the known refineries anyway

From what I've seen they have 91, 98 and diesel. I thought there would be some sort of regs on the fuels to be above board but my car does seem to run better on some then others.
I've noticed my local bp has dropped 91 to 1c cheaper than costco to match so 98 should be similar as well. Not sure if costco will have a weekly cycle with pricing though so will be interesting to see how that plays out if they don't compared to the other servos

I purchase my fuel from Woolies/Caltex 500m away from Costco at the Cross Roads in Sydney and they are always cheap as they are trying to match the Costco price. Are there any reputable service stations near your local Costco doing the same thing?

Too bad they only sell it in gallons, because our fuel tanks only take litres.

The best opening offer Brisbane got was you didn't have to be a member on the opening day to purchase.

from what I've seen and heard over the last few days the closest servo's in the area seem to be trying to match prices on the 91 at least. 98 and diesel still seem to be a little more than costco.

Does the Sydney costco have a price cycle or does it just have a consistent price?

I was sitting watching the news last night with all the Costco hooplaa, BS etc. Hooray hooray for Costco, news was showing how wonderfully low their price was at 138.7. Woop de doo, I had been passing it all week at 139.9 at nearly all servos here on the Gold Coast. Geee they are cheap.

Read somewhere that gasoline is the proper term form what we call unleaded petrol.
Apparently petrol (petroleum) can be both regular unleaded gasoline or diesel.

Surly someone here would know all the technical terms, which are correct and which are not.

It's the same thing, the only difference is that we speak English and the Seppo's don't

If you read there membership conditions carefully you will see that it states that you can cancel your membership at any time and get your money back. All of it, not pro rata. Even one day before it expires.
