Default Quick opinions please! RE: DL LTD Interior swap

Hey guys

Just wondering, who here has put some DL LTD seats into there cars? Ive had a quick PM with offyaguts (that car is so horn!) and his of the opinion that everything is a straight swap except for the bolsters, they are too big.

So for those who have done it, opinions and experiences would be great.

Also, Ive got some pics here off what I am looking at. Now they seem to be ok except for the darker patches, Im a little worried about them. I have some good cleaning products (foam and cream) that made a huuuge difference to my Ghia ones. But I dont recall having the darker worn spots on mine.

So what do you guys think? They are ok? Or shouldn't I bother. Only issue is they dont come around that frequently :(

Oh and to make things even better, I need a decision in a day or so (actually tomorrow really..LOL)

Ive got a fair idea, but interested in what you guys believe.

PICS:

My current seats are pretty shmicko, so its a hard choice.

Cheers Guys!

The main advantage of the LTD interior is that it features REAL leather, unlike the Fairlane and Fairmont Ghia. But if your current seats are schmick, I'd just stick with them.

That interior seems pretty scummy, if you think it would come up good with a clean then go for it, but if it was me i'd rather have a good clean stock ghia interior over a average LTD one.

IMO they just look hella filthy...... they should clean up good though....i dont think they're actually worn

i'd still get them if the price is right, you can always sell them on if you're not happy with them

Thats pretty much what I was thinking. Its a bugger I cant really see them before saying yes, unless someone around the area can have a quick look for me. I know some members who live near them.

I dont want to say the price as I am doing a deal with another member, his grabbing the door trims. Well, thats the plan at the moment. Still not completely sure.

I think its more the fact that the LTD leather is trimmed differently and seems to be of a higher quality leather...

You are correct about the bolsters, when I put the NC interior into the ED, i had to get Fairmont bolsters.

It looks as though it'll clean up ok... I've seen before and after pics of leather thats been restored... it takes a lot of time and effort...

If worse comes to worse, retrim your current bolsters to match... easier than finding SWB bolsters that match... (although, isn't your car already equipped with cappa leather??)

10 Points!

Here are some pics of mine:

And that was before I cleaned them.

Problem is by drivers seat is starting to crack and get a bit saggy.

Hmm... I say go for it! They dont come up often, and when they do, they are bloody pricey!

Plus you can offload your current seats to offset the cost.

Polyal hate to say it man but that interior you got in your isn't really all that mint. My old lady's old EL had the best condition leather in all the passenger seats, never had any oily, shine creating product on any of the seats and the carpeted areas were mint.

I reckon those DL seats will come up a treat. I would've snapped 'em up if they were grey. I asked for pics and everything within 5 minutes of FTG putting them up for sale at that price.

Actually I agree with ya, the pics dont do it any justice at all, those coming to the Geelong meet tomorrow night can have a look, they look good in person.

The seats will need some elbow grease thats for sure, ill see if the price is negotiable at all.

Thanks for the honest opinions guys!

The side bolsters don't fit, and from what I understand while the base of the back seat sits straight it, the back section isn't a straight bolt up. I think you have to swap some brackets over from your exising back, or drill some extra holes and move the brackets. Nothing too major though. LTD seats are nicer, but I'm not a leather fan, so I wouldn't be swayed either way.

I think unless you can get the seats at a really good price, why change something that doesn't need changing??? Are the DL Seats any comfier?? they look to be a bit more padded....
