Hello All,
Has any one used both proper racing slicks and MT stickey street tyres. My car is a TC Cortina with a Clevo and is light in the rear. It's not a big HP car but should run mid 12's. Ideally I want to buy the MT sticky street tyres so I dont have to change tyres at the track, but if it is going to make a difference of more than 2/10's I'll go for the full slicks. Car is not tubbed at all. Any feed back is appreciated. Cheers |

Keep in mind you MUST run same type construction tyre front and back !!!
Which is why I run street radial on my Falcon.. Traction is still an issue however.. If you can run crossplys on the front ?? The I would go with MT or whatever brand on the back...Which are crossplys.. The car will wander all over the track with radial fronts, MT slicks on the back... Not a good thing at over over 100 mph...

I've run both. For a 12 second car def go the street ET Radials.
You will loose no time and car will handle so much better. With slicks running 10psi you need a heap of revs or tire speed for them to handle ok. |
