Arrow LT Diesel's for evaluation

Hi guy's,

If anyone is seriously considering purchasing one of the little rippers in the near future, I've just Registered two that i will make available to forum members for a day. Mabye overnight, depending on bookings
A quick spin round the block dosent do them justice. I've been driving one for a few days now and these things are much better than i thought they would be!
You will need to book and more than likely at least a few days in advance, and sorry but Saturdays is out. Busy day for us and need the cars!

PM or email me should you wish to make a booking.

Go the little oily rattlers!

:togo: Forgot to add!!!! Dealership is Etheridge Ford in Melbourne!

Cheers

Given that it'll pretty much keep up with an XR5 - then yes! Faster than a petrol but uses far less fuel than a 2.0 petrol and most certianly less than an XR5... otherwise it's effectively based on the petrol LX model for options/features.

Model---0 to 100---Top Speed

XR5-----6.8s-------245 kmph
LX------9.2s-------206 kmph
TDCi----9.3s-------203 kmph

The TDCi has heaps of torque down low (320nm at 2000rpm) so it should feel fast (I haven't driven one yet), particularly in "normal" driving conditions ie <4000 rpm, but the "pretty much keep up with an XR5" and "faster than a petrol" are a big call.

I haven't heard a bad review from anyone thats driven one yet though. I love the idea of so much useable torque (ie under 4000rpm) and the fuel economy is great. I just think the $4000+ premium is a bit steep. No doubt many others will disagree with me though.

Good to see the interest in the new model overall.

0-100 times are one thing but how it performs in real life is another. Rolling start a TDCI will munch a Petrol like no tomorrow

If anybody in Canberra wants to test this out, I'll volunteer my XR5 :evil3:

Yes, it has the same stock max torque, but the XR5 has 60% more power.

By all accounts it is a great little car that is cheap to run and easy to drive with so much torque, but a sports car it ain't.

I second that: Bit poor to be spruiking for business with your first post. Very poor form indeed. To me that's a privilige reserved for sponsors.

So come on Cormac.....you know you can afford it!!!!

Purchased TDCI one week ago and can't recommend these cars highly enough.
The power and torque are instantanious.
ESP gives you the ability to drive it as hard as you want into corners without the felling that you will end up in the gutter.
Love it

Cheers

Be careful when punting your Foc around, ESP can only do so much for you, it can't overcome physics.

Interesting to see Peter Warren Special Smithfield is no longer a sponsor. RATT (who's in sales there) hasn't posted since February.

Sooo we have no Sydney dealer sponsors

If you knew RATT you'd be wanting to take back that statement.

What profession are you might I ask? I'd like to make a sweeping generalisation about you too based on nothing...

I see you're not a donating member XtRmn8. Perhaps you'd like to put your hand in your pocket as the sponsors have done, and contribute to the upkeep of the Forum

Barra, do you mean you've emailed the AFF directors about sponsoring, but haven't heard yet? Or you haven't heard from anyone re your test drive offer?

Would be interesting if this had happened 12mths ago, my sister & her husband were shopping for a car, looked at quite a few & amongst the choices was the Focus Zetec but they eventually got a Jetta diesel - if there was a Focus available at the time & especially in a sedan I dare say they might have bought that instead.
