This has cloth and only the 4.0. Would prefer leather and V8 but beggars can’t be choosers. Good to be back in a LWB Aussie Ford though.
Big gutless Toyota V8 petrol used nearly 23l/100km to tow this 500km north.

Replacement interior trim is best sourced from England because it’s never sun-damaged and will be to suit RHD. Once sorted you end up with a reliable hauler that requires the bonnet opening far less often than a B-series.
Always good info from you Citroenbender... Would this hold true of one of the BMW engined Range Rovers? Or is that it's own 44 gallon drum of worms...

I can’t comment on the driveline, sorry - nil exposure. Range Rovers seem to hold a bit more value for longer than some comparable German marques.

Trawl through rangerovers.net for info, you’ll likely be put off them after the first couple of pages.
That is what I did. I had an L322 supercharged 4.2 in mind. But a Turbo Porsche Cayenne was cheaper near me, and by all accounts a more solid vehicle.
I put 20,000km on it before the timing chain went, turning it into an expensive shed ornament.
So I did what I should have done in the first place and bought a Lexus LX. Ride quality isn’t as good as the other two. But I don’t need to worry about re sale or what is going to go wrong on a monthly basis.

The early 4.4 BMW Range Rovers have timing chain issues, oils leaks and PCV failure. The 3.0 diesel M57 is probably the last BMW engine that is reliable. Nearly every one I’ve seen of these for sale has had the trans rebuilt at some stage.

Good plan, but my execution of that plan sucked! Researching used prices for her car on Carsales/Carsguide/Gumtree, got bored looking at Hyundais...and yeah, this happened:

Grabbed an unmolested 2001 WH Caprice LS1 in Tungsten. Haven't even listed her car yet. Damn this thread.

Anyone recommend an unpholstery/trimmer in Radelaide? Leather on driver's seat is totally shot.

Also, anyone recommend a good marriage counsellor? She doesn't get how 2 cars minus 1 car = 3 cars
Wasn't the intention but flipped the WH for profit thanks to crazy Covid prices.

$4600 purchase
$1500 retrimming leather front seats, centre console lid and steering wheel
$32 sunroof switch (would open but not manually close, had to turn car off so it would automatically close)
$240 tint
$30 fixing mast on electric aerial
$100 replacing faded chrome trim

Sold for $8800 after roughly 6 months of enjoyment

Still haven't listed the i45

Volkswagen Touareg parts are same as Cayenne I've been told. Bloke I buy tyres off said he had a Cayenne once he bought it with 40k km on it. Headlights fell out when he pulled up to park one day and 2 weeks later drive shaft went. Drive shaft was $2500 + fitting from Porche dealer, one for a Touareg $400, fitted it himself in half an hour. I had a Discovery 2, sold it after a continual problem with valves sticking in the heads and parts failures. Last straw was when the central locking failed one day and I had to exit from the window.

I shouldn't laugh at someone's misfortune, but that last bit had me laughing more than I should!

Apparently Land Rover lights have 3 settings:

Dim, flicker, and off

It wasn't funny at the time as I was in a queue at the local soil place trying to get a trailer load of sand, but when I look back I always have a bit of a chuckle.

mmmm I'd say either a BMW 850CI/Alpina B12 or a AMG 560SEC widebody, with an honorable mention to the BMW M635CSi/Alpina B9

Reminds me of the old saying, the only Lucas product that didn't suck was their Vacuum cleaners.
