Default Pics of bonnet and engine bay in sun (dial up warning)

The last three days we've been getting pretty full on stuck into working on the car.

On saturday we spent most of the day prepping and priming all the small exterior plastics that need to be done in silver (such as handles, side mirrors, spoiler etc).

Sunday was spent sanding back the primer and spraying them in color. Unfortunately since the alot of it was previously sprayed in enamel paint, a few of the things had places were the two paints reacted due to the primer being too thin, so those were then sanded back and primed again.

Today, we got stuck into fixing and sanding the bonnet, and also gave it a lick of primer to better show any minor imperfections that still need to be tacked. Also, i spent some time sanding back all the corners on the boot and rear quarters aswell as all the imperfections.

Here's some pics

Bonnet being worked on...

Enough fibreglass??

Bonnet primed

Also as promised, took the opportunity to take some happy snaps of the engine bay while the car was outside. As you can see in the pics, the belt shroud was also painted in silver. Still not sure whether i like it, so any comments on this would be appreciated...

So yeah, been a busy few days, and the next few will be just as busy. More pics and updates as they happen

One thing at a time lol. Need to get the car sprayed first, but if progress continues like the last few days, it could be around 2-3weeks (fingers crossed)

I'm mentally pscyching myself up and saying that it will be done, but too hard to tell as i still need to consider if something goes wrong. For example if the car don't start (which i'm betting it wont), then it could be anywere from 2 hours to 2 weeks to diagnose the problem...

How come the buldge can be seen where it joins onto the original bonnet??
Looking at kaddis' buldge theres no join line at all how do you get away from that?

That's not were the bulge joins, that section was actually built up with fibre glass to give the bonnet some more distinct lines.

looks great Rymers....

my personal opinion is it needs a 3rd color for highlight...

Blueprint is close to the blue anodising on your catch can so I would go with that..

Paint the dipstick handle, make little flat discs and attach them to the power steering, oil caps and to cover the washers for the shockie rubbers. Maybe abit of airbrushing on the power steering shroud to break it up??

my dodgey ps

I agree with racecraft, either a red or blue is needed somewhere, do much silver IMO.

HPC looks awesome though!

And what is the box with the lines coming off it in the left hand front of the engine bay?
