This is a couple of pics of my old work cars, These are driving around now I I wonder what the current owners would think if they saw them in their previous life (I removed all the decals before I sold them)

Doesn't look too shabby (: Mum was considering buying one of those too! Is their specs nearly the same as the fiesta?

Thankfully the Fiesta is pretty far removed from the Ka. Totally different motors for a start. The Ka had a pushrod 1.3L that best served as an anchor for someones yacht. It was probably the worst example of Ford's late 90s Edge design. I'm not one for the egg on wheels.

I've never driven one hard, but they alledgedly have a half decent suspension tune, shame about the rest of the car.....

I did drive one hard, even poked it around willowbank on the long course. Needed a cut lunch to complete the main straight but quite fun on the back and upper sections.

It was only the engine that let it down, even with standard suspension, and wheels they are a genuine no nonsence car. the 1.4L engine should have been a 1.8, and would have made a decent well balanced package.
As it was set up for euro emmisions (built in Spain I think) it would have benifeted from a less constrained exhaust (from memory it was very small)

I think they have the same 1.3 crossflow as my 1975 Escort! There was a SportKa version later in life with a better engine (same as the StreetKa convertible).

It's a shame the Ka didnt have such an lethargic engine and povo interior, I think with the colour coded bumpers and some decent wheels it looked alright.

The SportsKa was definatly the pick of them, Ford AU should certainly have brought that out here in limited numbers just as a fun niche vehicle.
